Interesting how the game has changed.

Michael Jordan only had 7 or more made 3pts in onegame in his entire career.
Larry Bird did it twice.

From 1989 season to 1994 season it only happened 35 times.

It has happened 26 times already this season.

Last season it happened 135 times.

You know when you walk up to a restaurant and you check the menu, but you don't like the contents and you just walk away?

Goodbye thread.

I have always wondered about what prevented superstars to shoot more threes between 1985-2000? Were they afraid that coaches will put them in the doghouse or were they too much self-critical i.e they thought they were bad shooters? It seems there was some kind of invisible law, that forced coaches to plan tactics and strategy that utilized centers and power forwards to get points instead of training players to be better 3 point shooters.

I saw flashbacks of michael jordan!! Rudy G is so overrated:
  • slow
  • weak
  • always gets manhandled
  • cannot make a basket unless it's a dunk
  • for his size should be averaged 15 rebounds and 5 blocks per game
  • no finesse, not smooth when it comes to his game
  • worst passer, zero vision
Bring back Derrick Favors and have him start. Favors would pick up so much slack when he was in the game. He would space so well and always get easy baskets because teammates would find him. Rudy looks like a chicken with its head cut off out there.

The pelicans sure know how to read and analyze data, unlike the Jazz and the Joker, I mean quin snyder:

On Derrick - "In his last 93 minutes on the court, the Pelicans have scored 30 more points than opponents. When he’s sat during the remaining 109 minutes conversely, the team’s been outscored by 26 points. New Orleans has been 36.8 points per 100 possessions better with him than without and the visual evidence doesn’t disagree." Source

This is exactly what he did for the Jazz but all you losers only bashed him. Just because he's a quiet guy doesn't mean he can't play. He also had 20 points and 20 rebounds a couple of games back.

Trade Rudy for Derrick

You seeing "flashbacks" of Jordan because of any Center in the NBA, tells us that your too young to remember Jordan and your raw evaluation for what "good basketball is" absolutely sucks. You missed fired on your intro worse than your mother misfired at choosing an intellectual father for you.
When you're old enough to remember the Jordan years, you don't have flashbacks, you have memories that seem like yesterday. You bashing Gobert, tells us that is your first interaction with any Center in the NBA, therefore further crediting that you weren't even a swimmer in your unknown fathers deflated bag. I don't know who would bash Favors as you recall, but they're obviously idiots and none as worse than yourself.
I take offense to you having Jordan flashbacks, when your basketballs hadn't dropped even at the point of MJ's retirement. In your case and given your age you should focus on things that matter to your generation such as, 5 star car seat ratings, which bathroom your going to use, and load management.

100% basketball coaches weren’t good at math and weren’t progressive enough to give into the three point line.

I grew up in the 90s... my junior high team had a solid post player who happened to be the coach’s son. We were told to get the ball into the post because that’s how real basketball is played. I was going to make the entry pass and my guy dropped off me... I made a three... next time down same thing happened same result... could sense my teammate was annoyed I was dumping it down to him and he says something to me like “we can’t keep shooting those shots all day”

next time down my guy drops again... I shoot again... in and out. Coach subs me out at next dead ball to chew me out... I scored 6 points on three possessions... these were the basketball minds coaching at the time. I would get an atta boy for pump faking on a three and shooting a 15 footer because it was an easier shot.

Coaches were scared to death of long rebounds which would start the break the other direction. Many teams shot the three, but they were generally secondary specialists (Korver types) waiting for the kickout from the big after he was doubled. Also, shooters weren't as good, and defense was played differently (players had to play man and were probably better at fighting through screens and defending out to the line.)

LMAO. Thats what Rudy had last night, no more no less. Rudy trolled you hard.
Loooool. You will not believe it but a two weeks ago i wrote the same thing as a comment on his instagram account. I swear to God he's been playing harder since that comment. it got to him. sometimes you need to be critical.

Come on guys. I mean I do like this forum, but I hate that mentality that says "All pile on!" Everybody embellishes for effect. That being said, Faves was one of my faves, and I love the fact that the OP did all of this awesome research. I was thinking that Gentry was sleeping on Faves in favor of his stockpile of rookies and young players - looks like he won't be able to now. Good for our brother in arms.

PS No way KAT gets the best of Rudy again tonight.

You're a good man
