Michael Pointer: #Pacers coach Frank Vogel says George, West and Stephenson will not play tomorrow in Orlando.

#3 is still possible?

I can't go on record saying I agree with Cy, as I haven seen his whole body of work on Burks, but to an extent I agree. I think he could be a decent starter somewhere. I think his absolute ceiling is a Wesley Mathews caliber but I think more realistically be a Nick Young. I think Burks has a few key things where he really excels, but overall versatility I would take Hayward. If, fingers crossed, we land a Jabari or Wiggins, then I think what Burks brings to the table is, at best, redundant. Hayward, on the other hand, in my opinion, would pretty conplementary. I prefer to keep all of Burke, Hayward, Favors and Kanter and let the chips fall where they will with the other guys.

lol okay

Seems like no one is mentioning a pretty interesting scenario. Indiana could sit their starters against Orlando. Ya know, with them clinching and all.

I counted on that and also SA resting their starters (of course, with the loss to the Lakers we don't need SA's help now).
Glad to hear Indiana has announced that Paul, West and Stephenson will be out. They still should have more than enough to win against Orlando as the subs stepped up when those players PLUS Hibbert and Hill rested against Milwaukee.

Burks isn't on Burke's level? lol

Because obviously a guy who can create his own shot and put up 46%/35% <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< a player who shot 38%/33%. Alec doubled his scoring average as his minutes per/game rose from 18 to 28. I think the last couple of games showed us the value of having some scoring punch off the bench. Replace MW and RJ with an alpha scorer and a defensive presence. Then keep Burks and/or Kanter coming off the bench. You can only have so many offensive-minded guys on the starting unit. SA found the perfect balance by having Manu be their 6th man. I'd like to see Alec continue in that role next year, but get at least 30 mins/per.

Didn't Manu start for a while though??? Why not see what one of our best players can do in a starting lineup?

Yes he did. And Burks could certainly start. Guess it depends on who the Jazz draft and what Corbin's plans are now that he'll finally have a NBA team to coach instead of a team designed for the tank. Ty is an offensive genius and I have full faith he'll do what's best for the success of the Jazz. Besides, after the Jazz draft another couple of 20-yr olds, Alec will FINALLY be a veteran by comparison. Let's just keep our fingers crossed and hope Lindsey doesn't trade for or sign another old-timer like Bell, Howard or Jefferson.
