Looked like a pretty dumb play since Dellys noggin took the hit.
And Bron iso is so ugly, they ought to get style points deducted. But with a weak supporting cast, I understand.

...not only is it "ugly"....it's also a violation of the game! Now I know most of you will say that "everybody" does it, and that's true! But if the game of basketball has RULES then why should everybody get away with it? As you will witness Tuesday night on numerous occasions, when Lebron starts to ISO or back his man in on the wing, you will CLEARLY see him PICKING up his dribble, sometimes in such a flagrant way that it's impossible for the refs not to witness the same thing us fans are witnessing from our living room! WHY is this NOT EVER called? If they don't call the palming or carrying the ball violation, why are they calling some of these ticky tack off the ball screens or moving screens that are way more difficult to see and not nearly as flagrant? I really want to know the answer to this question!!!

Actually, it WAS the NBA that first looked the other way when it came to palming the ball and it didn't start with Iverson, it started with Earl "the Pearl" Monroe!

"25 years from now, the kids of that generation will be laughing at the footage of the current NBA. "Why are those guys wasting effort by dribbling the ball? Why don't they just run down the court with the ball like today's players do?"

Although steps were taken to control palming in the 2005-06 basketball season, additional attention needs to be directed in eliminating the illegal maneuver of “palming the ball” from our game. “Palming” or “carrying” the ball places the defensive player at a distinct disadvantage while according the dribbler a sizeable advantage inconsistent with the spirit and intent of the rules. The dribbler, who during a high or hesitation dribble, causes the ball to come to rest and then pushes or pulls the ball either to the side or in front of him commits an indefensible violation which must be called.
“Palming” is an illegal maneuver. When the ball comes to rest in the
dribblers’ hand, by rule, the dribble has ended. Continuing to dribble after the ball has come to rest in the hand is a violation and should be called."

"Palming violations are only being enforced by competent, knowledgeable officials....which means there are no such ones in today's NBA!"

The NBA used to be very strict on hand placement. You were taught to dribble with your hand directly on top of the ball without much room for error, or else you could get called for palming.
This is why when you hear about players being better team players back then, a large part is because they had to. You had to rely on good passing, team play, and good screens to get an open shot. It's much harder to take someone off the dribble without being able to palm the ball, that's why you see such little iso back then.

I was just venting with those posts above! I'm just disenchanted that the refs are so stringent when it comes to calling some of the moving screens or screens off the ball, when allowing some of the most flagrant palming violations right in front of there eyes!

Well to try and get the conversation off of irrelevant rants...I think the Warriors handle the Cavs tonight. I thought the Warriors in 5 to begin. Didn't realize they had 0 finals experience when I said that. It took them 3 games just to remember how they play basketball. I think they have solved the Cavs defensive dilemma and take care of this thing tonight.
