2017 Pre-Draft Workouts

Why workout so many dudes when it's obvious: Kuzma

I've heard of players shutting down workouts after getting promises but never teams.

I like Kuzma, but what do you make of his 3 pt. Shooting percentage and ft percentage. Not sure he's a knock down shooter at this point.

Compared to Lyles in college, he's a knockdown shooter.

Also from KSL today: The Jazz want to hold fewer workouts than in years past, when they've brought in over 100 players to evaluate.

"I'm planning on cutting back some. How much, I don't know for sure," Perrin said. "We feel like we need more days where we get together and talk about players."

I hope more discussion leads to better decisions.

To be fair, these late draft picks are where the Jazz have done well.

It's possible that the Jazz already know who they want and feel that bringing certain guys in to work out only tips their hand as to who they're interested in.

It's also possible the Jazz have trade scenarios to move up for players that they don't need to work out.

So far, it's been the relatively unknown guys like Wilson, Kuzma and (would have been) Frank Jackson whom they've brought in.

I compared Sanders stats to Damina Lillard's stats his last year at Weber. They are quite close in all areas and they competed in the same league.

Watched some video on that guy and don't think he's an NBA player.

Oh wow! Donovan Mitchell has agreed to workout with us!? I don't think there is a chance in hell he drops to 24, we might need to trade up for him... That's a pretty good group. 4-5 of those are going to get drafted.

Maximum 4, dont see Jefferson or Perrantes having a shot.

But yeah, it's insane Mitchell's agent agreed to the Jazz. I guess they like the fit if we decide to trade up.

My first thought was he's not got great feed back from other teams and he is looking for a backstop. But we are still in may, that seems early to start working on a backstop.

There isn't a chance he drops to 24, so I don't think that is their thinking at all.

Surprising that Mitchell would work out with us. He's expected to go between 11 and 16, not really close to our range. Wonder if the Jazz told his agent they have trade options on the table. He's a guy you can pair next to Exum if you want to play Exum on the ball.

I don't think he falls but I'm just saying there is always a possibility. It is much more likely with a big falling rather than a guard or wing like you said.

There isn't the possibility. Go look at the 2014 draft and how many wings were drafted in-between where Hood was projected and at 24. Totally different drafts. There just isnt the wing/guard depth for it to happen. As much chance as Markelle Fultz dropping to 24 as Mitchell.

Give me a break. Really? Fultz has the same chance as Mitchell does of falling to 24? That's probably the dumbest thing you've ever said.

The Jazz have to be dangling Diaw's contract and one or more picks to a team drafting in the late lottery--Charlotte, Detroit, etc. Detroit especially has a difficult cap situation right now. This could also be a reason that the Jazz got an interview with Zach Collins at the Combine.
