2017 Pre-Draft Workouts

Bam has worked out for Detroit, Indiana and Portland. There are so many bigs though that Bam, Patton or Allen is almost certain to end up in the 20s.

Kind of surprised we're working out Dotson considering his past and what Lindsay has said about those kinds of things. I know he was acquitted, but I've read the police report and it...wasn't great.

No first round prospects the past two days. Kind of odd. I would think players projected to possibly be late first rounders would be dying to work out here to try and solify their position since we have two late first rounders.
Most of them are centers in the late first round. We have worked out pretty much every late first round prospect who wasn't a center. Don't think that is Utah's doing. Centers don't want to be stuck behind Rudy

Guys I'm surprised the Jazz haven't gotten in yet:

Tyler Dorsey
Sterling Brown
Edmond Sumner
Jarron Blossomgame
LJ Peak
Harry Giles

We got Sterling Brown in, at least according to one of these pictures from the past couple weeks. I'm surprised we haven't seen Frank Jackson. Or, if we have, in not aware of it.

Unless he never came.

Jackson was scheduled to come in on a Saturday but had to cancel due to his injury.

It looks like that will conclude the 2017 draft work-outs.

Although he wouldn’t guarantee it for absolute certain, Utah Jazz vice president of player personnel Walt Perrin said Saturday that the team had more than likely concluded the workout phase of the predraft process.

Now onto the Jazz Big Board:

Perrin said Utah ranks prospects from top to bottom, but also uses a tier system in which it groups players together.

Without revealing specifics, Perrin indicated there are about 20 players whom the Jazz, picking for the first time at No. 24 on Thursday should they not make a trade involving the selection, likely won’t have a shot at.

From there, Lindsey, Perrin and company will identify a group of prospects who will likely be available at No. 24 and at No. 30 when the team chooses for the second time. Groups of players who are expected to be on the board at No. 42 and then at No. 55 are also identified.

My gut tells me we draft Wilson at 24, trade 30 and Burks to a team who wants an extra pick and can take on some salary, and draft a Euro and someone is else in the 2nd.
