We have all ignored draft **** because we assumed we wouldn't have a pick.

Well now I think there is a 75%+ chance we draft at least once in the first round this year, and it could be anywhere from 1st to 30th.

So let's have some fun and do that thing where we overly romanticize rookies and wax poetic about how they will save our franchise.

To support your conclusion here... Locke on his pod said something when pumping his draft pod that we will have a pick... it was in passing but a little presumptuous.

The noise on this draft is the experts don't love it... I actually think its pretty good through like the 20s. I think a lot of the players are the right types and have some nice strengths that are interesting.

Im very uninformed this year.

I've paid very little attention to this draft, practically none at all. As always, I'm looking for an athletic wing with length and ball skills. A year ago, I was looking at Benedict Mathurin and that Croatian guy Roko Prkacin in the late 1st, but they both withdrew. Now Mathurin is going lottery and Roko has somehow fallen off the planet. If nothing else, I think the Jazz would get a FRP for Clarkson or Bojan. There are teams that are more desperate than the Jazz are, and I could see New York, Atlanta, Sacramento and some others over-reaching for our players. Brooklyn needs a Gobert badly to open their window of contention, but I'm not sure what trade assets they even have at this point.

I believe in Jabari Smith's superstar potential. Numbers say he's a better prospect than Jayson Tatum and probably Evan Mobley as well. If we don't believe that Mitchell is a real franchise player, then I wouldn't hesitate to move him in a deal that brought back Smith. He might go #1 though.

Funnily enough the most college basketball I’ve watched in one year in my life was this year.

I haven't paid too much attention to this draft. I think Chet will be a very good player but I see why there's questions about him. I'm not too high on Banchero or Smith. Smith's 2FG% is disgusting. I agree with the general consensus that the prospects are underwhelming this year.

I love Smith... Chet worries me with fit and his physical profile but I get it.

Down through the lotto...

I like the idea of Sharpe and think at 7-9 he might be a huge get... he's a huge swing and miss guy because he didn't play college but the physical profile, jumper, athleticism could add up.

Later in the lotto... like Dyson Daniels especially if you are fitting a guy around Donovan. I like Sochan but I think someone reaches for him. I'm not a fan of drafting centers but I think Mark Williams can do all the stuff you want from a modern traditional center and I think he will be able to shoot it. I think he is more in the Ayton mold.

There aren't many guys in the top 20 that I hate.. I think they are guys you can make a pretty good case for. Beyond the top 20ish I don't see a lot of "take a flier" on this guy types that are intriguing. Give me time and I will be able to fit 40 guys in my top 20.

Jabari is just too different than those guys to make such an assumption. he could be anything from a poor man's rashard lewis to kevin durant type guy.

Sharpe won't be there 7-9 - i think the furthest he falls is 5. in fact, i wouldn't be surprised at this point if he sneaks into that top three and displaces one of banchero, smith or chet.

Agree... with Smith he is somewhere on the Rudy Gay - Jayson Tatum - Kevin Durant type. Everything I have heard from the experts I really like. He's the guy i'd gamble on.

Sharpe shouldn't be there at 7-9... I think I'd put him top 4 if I understood his total background... he will be a workout darling though so likely rises to consensus top 5 levels. He's a guy I could see showing out if he had played and going 1 in this draft.
