Brooklyn?
That was the rumor flying around a few weeks ago was that Brooklyn was not participating in the Dame sweepstakes cuz they saving their firepower for Don.

We have a lot of superstar trade asset stuff... but the next round of "stars" to ask out (or be thrown to market) aren't super intriguing to me. Embiid, KAT, Don, Lavine are the next up...

Isnt Cuban still on a short leash by Luka or has that changed? I was under the impression the trade request is coming if Mavs fall short this upcoming season.

Okay, good. Now let’s trade for him next offseason.
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised at all if this was the plan for both Boston and Utah. He’s worth a LOT more in return now that he’s signed that contract instead of being on a one year deal.

Plus, he got the full supermax - which is more than he would’ve gotten in Utah (I think - could be wrong on that one.) Obviously, Utah will have to outbid to get him, but sure DA likes the idea of using some of his assets to get a player like Jaylen Brown.

Please tell me you are joking. Brown is a really good player but definitely not a superstar and just signed for superstar money.

Everyone is overpaid. Right now he signed for superstar money, but every year these goalposts move and there are going to be more and more “non-superstars” getting this superstar money.

If George and Hendricks are good starters, then grabbing someone like Brown puts you in a great position to be your contending step.

George
Brown
Hendricks
Lauri
Walker

Great on the defensive end. Not sure what more you are expecting from him but he’s definitely worth the money. Are you insinuating we shouldn’t max Lauri when the time comes?

I'm not a big Brown guy, but he averaged 26-7-4 as a 26 year old. If he's not a super star he's about as close as you can get without being one and he has room for improvement

Scoring numbers in the current NBA are inflated. He is also a solid defender but not a great defender. With Lauri we have another couple years to figure him out but I think his upside is higher than Brown.
