REGULAR SEASON
Through the middle of the season we saw a few of the teams struggle to develop chemistry. The main issue was @Coach Ellis and the Philadelphia 76ers. It seemed as if the twin tower lineup of David Robinson and Kareem Abdul Jabbar was not compatible versus lineups with more versatile bigs, but after a few coaching adjustments they were able to gain some steam by the All-Star break, and would finish the season overall with a 54-28 record after spending most of the first quarter of the season with a losing record.
Kareem finished with 21.1 ppg, 9.7 rpg, and 1.5 bpg. David Robinson finished with 16.4 ppg, 7.5 rpg and 2.0 bpg.
Paul George was the backcourt leader in ppg with 19.8 ppg 4.9 rpg and 4.9 apg, and Tony Parker had a solid season with double double averages: 15.2 ppg and 10.9 apg.
Sitting below the Sixers in 6th place was @Bawse Dawg and the Charlotte Hornets. A team loaded with legends ranging from Shaquille O'Neal, Jerry West, Barkley, Frazier, and Bob McAdoo couldn't develop chemistry between eachother as well as the top teams on the list. Shaquille O'Neal did have a pretty solid season with 19.3 ppg, 10.9 rpg, 4.3 apg, and 2.6 bpg. Jerry West averaged 17.5 ppg and 8.9 apg. Walt Frazier 15.8 ppg and 8.9 apg. Charles Barkley would average 13.9 ppg and 10.9 rpg as well as 1.3 bpg.
Though they dealt with chemistry issues, and looked like a team that could possibly implode at times in the season @David Hume and the New York Knicks finished in 4th of the Eastern Conference. The chemistry problems must have been between Kobe, Moses, and D-Rose to figure out who the top dog of the team was, because all three averaged more than 20 ppg. Kobe and Derrick Rose had astonishing averages, as both men averaged double doubles.
Kobe Bryant 23.3 ppg and 10 apg.
Derrick Rose 22.0 ppg and a whopping 11.5 APG
Moses Malone had a monster year as well with 22.2 ppg and 12.6 rpg and 2 bpg.
The team would finish 60-22 and looked to be promising to win the Finals despite having low team chemistry most of the season.
@Elizah Huge and the Orlando Magic did not have the season they were expected to have, in fact it was a blunder as to the roster that they had on paper. Finishing at 46-36, they came into the playoffs at the 8th seed. Steph Curry averaged a solid 22.5 ppg and 9.3 apg, as well as Julius Erving and Alonzo Mourning both averaging 21 ppg, but their bench struggled to contribute as Gilbert Arenas was the only man off the bench to sniff 10 ppg with 13.7 ppg in only 18 mpg. Lack of scoring diversity and a defensive presence could've been to blame for Orlando's woes, as Reggie Miller struggled to assist the big 3 of Curry, Erving and Mourning with only 11.6 ppg. You could conisder Peja, RIP Hamilton, and Sabonis to be major disappointments for the team, as each averaged par of 10 ppg (Peja 9.3 ppg, Rip 7.9 ppg and Sabonis 6.7 ppg)
@Rubashov and the Chicago Bulls finished 49-33, which is a respectable record that put them at the 7th seed in the East. Nikola Jokic had no issues nearly getting his triple double average as he put up 23 ppg, 9.8 rpg and 10.3 apg. There was solid contribution between the starting 5 as Dominique Wilkins averaged 19.3 ppg, Ray Allen 18.7 ppg, SGA 17.5 and Kevin Love 16.1 ppg.
@sip and the Atlanta Hawks were basically unstoppable for the entire season, finishing with an astonishing 70-12 record. Michael Jordan put up 22.5 ppg along with a career high 8.6 APG, and 2.6 spg. Rick Barry: 19.2, 6 rpg, 6 apg, Penny Hardaway averaged 19.4 ppg, 5 rpg along with 10.2 apg. The playmaking & chemistry of the Atlanta Hawks made them favorites to win the title going into the playoffs.
In the East, splitting 2nd and 3rd place was @gandalfe (Cleveland Cavs) and @The Fresh Prince (Brooklyn Nets) both finishing with a strong 66-16 record.
Tim Duncan put up averages of 17.3 ppg 9.9 rpg 5.9 apg along with 2.2 bpg.
Bob Cousy would average 12.8 ppg/9.2 apg.
Clyde Drexler averaged 21.3 ppg along with 7.4 apg
Dwight Howard, 15.9 ppg/8.1 rpg/1.6 bpg
Drazen Petrovic off the bench provided a solid spark with 12.4 ppg and 44% shooting from 3.
As for the Nets, they were another team that played solid defense and team play. Only one player on the team averaged 20 ppg (Giannis), as Wade, Robertson, Kidd would be the main distributors among the team. Chris Mullin was a huge difference maker off the bench with 16.5 ppg & 5.2 apg averages. Oscar Robertson finished the season with 17 ppg 7 rpg and 9.6 apg averages.
he West was the WILD WEST. It seems as if anybody in this conference could be the frontrunner to win the conference, as each team 1-8 won more than 50 games very convincingly. 7th and 8th place was occupied by @NUMBERICA (Utah Jazz) and @Thee Idiotic Minivan K (Los Angeles Clippers) who both finished 54-28.
The Jazz had a very interesting roster. In fact so interesting that VINCE CARTER outscored LEBRON JAMES for the season. Yes, and he did this by averaging a monster 25 ppg on 53% FG. LeBron would average a solid 23.6 ppg/6.5 rpg/8.5 apg season. And this team did look like it could be promising. They did seem to dominate various Eastern conference teams when they matched up, but struggled with the top teams in each conference during the season. Their main weakness seemingly was their bench, as there was virtually little production from Blake Griffin, Ralph Sampson, Michal Bridges, and Lauri Markkanen. Steve Nash averaged less than 10 apg (11.8 ppg, 9 apg), but this may be due to there being 2 facilitators already on the team.
Which makes me wonder what the hell were they cooking up there in New York ( @David Hume ) that KOBE F'ING BRYANT and Derrick Rose both averaged 10 APG!?
I know a lot of people were looking forward to what @Thee Idiotic Minivan K and the Clippers could do. Bird & Luka. How would they pair together? Well, they paired pretty tremendously, and had almost identical statlines besides scoring. Luka took the drivers seat with averages of 22.7 ppg and 8.6 apg and 6.2 rpg. Larry Legend had 20.3 ppg 6.4 rpg and 8.3 apg.
Production for the team afterward would kind of fall off, as Kevin McHale would put up 14.2 ppg and 9 rpg, and Gary Payton would average 12.8 ppg and 9.7 apg as well as 3 spg. Yao Ming disappointed with 12.6 ppg and 7 rpg (but had 1.8 bpg), there were multiple bench players that disappointed, such as Dale Ellis (6.3 ppg though shooting 44% from 3), Domantas Sabonis with 9 ppg and 5 rpg, and Tyrese Halliburton (5.6 ppg and 4.2 apg)
4th, 5th, and 6th place was a tie between, @Fosto and the Nuggets, @ONE LOVE and the Sacramento Kings, and @Jazz and Utes and the New Orleans Pelicans. All finished 58-24.
Starting with the Pelicans and @Jazz and Utes , PERK NOWITZKI did his thing with 23.8 ppg, 8.5 rpg and 4.2 apg, and Carmelo Anthony put up 22.3 ppg as well as 6.9 apg. The team had solid contribution between all the starters as John Stockton was wheelin' and dealin' like Ric Flair on an 8 Ball and a 5th of Jack. John Stockton may sound like a delusional conspiracy nut that lives out in the middle of some remote island these days. He may even say that medicine is bad and that all these athletes are dying, but he was dishing out lifelines to his teamates with 14 ppg and a whopping 12.6 apg. He also had 2.5 spg to go with it. Havlicek (18.5 ppg) , Klay (14.4 ppg) , Marion (13.3 ppg) all averaged well around 12-14 ppg, and Rudy Gobert averaged 1.7 bpg to go with 7 rpg.
If you want to find a team with pairity look no further than @ONE LOVE and the Sacramento Kings. You get a basket, he gets a basket, EVERYONE GETS A BASKET! Powered through Damian Lillards 19.3 ppg and 10.4 apg the team saw 7 players average close to 15 ppg. James Worthy was the 2nd leading scorer with 18.6 ppg 6.9 rpg, and 6.9 apg. Hakeem Olajuwon averaged 18.2 ppg 9.1 rpg and 2.4 bpg. Russell Westbrook, who would go on to win the 6th man of the year award averaged 15.8 ppg, 5.7 rpg and 9.0 apg off the bench. Adrian Dantley, Lamarcus Aldridge, Paul Pierce all averaged around 14.9 (Pierce averaged 14.2 ppg)
Onto @Fosto who had Wilt Chambergod leading the way with 22.4 ppg, 1 1 rpg and 2.4 bpg. The Klaw Kawhi Leonard put up 21.3 ppg 6.5 rpg and 5.6 apg. Chris Paul and Mark Price both were huge contributors to their team with Paul averaging 18.7 ppg and 10 apg, and Mark Price averaging 18 ppg and 10.7 apg. C-Webb averaged 17.1 ppg and 9.5 rpg, but after that production for the team would fall off. Shawn Kemp averaged 10.3 ppg, and Manu Ginobili 9 ppg. Hayward & Redick were virtually nonexisten with 6 ppg for Hayward and 3 ppg for Redick.
3rd place was @YoungJefe and the Mavericks with a record of 62-20. The team consisted of everyone in their starting 5 to the bench being a virtual threat as though no one on the team averaged 20 ppg, 7 players put up solid numbers. Kevin Durant averaged 18.9 ppg and 6.7 apg, Elgin Baylor averaged 18.8 ppg 8.1 rpg and 7 apg. Kevin Garnett averaged 17.5 ppg and 10 rpg. Isiah Thomas had 15.7 ppg and 9.6 apg, Jermaine O'Neal averaged 15.4 ppg. Ja Morant off the bench averaged 12.8 ppg and 4.7 apg, Tatum averaged 14.8 ppg.
2nd place was @Keefe and the Suns who finished at 63-19. The lineup of Harden, Billups, Bill Russell, Scottie Pippen, and BOB F'ING PETTIT lead to being a complete title contender that struck fear into opposition. Harden and Pettit were the leading scorers of the team, (Harden 21.6 ppg and Pettit 21.3 ppg 9 rpg shooting a blistering 45% from 3). Mr. Bigshot Chauncey Billups averaged 18.6 ppg and 8.1 apg, Bill Russell did Bill Russell things with 14.8 ppg and 11.5 rpg to go with 2.3 bpg.
Scottie Pippen averaged 14.7 ppg 7.5 rpg and 7.7 apg, Willis Reed provided muscle off the bench with 12.9 ppg and 6.4 rpg in only 20 mpg, and A.I chipped in 12 ppg in only 17 mpg. Glen Rice also served as a decent bench piece with 8 ppg on 43% 3P%.
And 1st in the WEST was no other than @Domino and the San Antonio Spurs. A lot of people doubted this team before coming into the season, but they had the DNA from DAY 1 to win. Powered by TMac, Karl Malone, Donovan Mitchell, Magic Johnson, Robert Parish, and Jaylen Brown this team established an identity from the beginning of the season to the end. McGrady (21.4 ppg and 10 apg) put up astonishing stats on star studded team, but the biggest surprise of them all was Karl f'ing Malone, who went totally ballistic with averages of 20.2 ppg, 9.6 rpg and 7.4 APG! This included multiple triple double games, as well as back to back triple double games at the end of the season (mostly all of his triple doubles came versus scrub teams that weren't going to make the playoffs). Magic Johnson also had great averages of 18.7 ppg, 8rpg, and 11.3 apg, as well as Parish putting up 16.1 ppg 10.3 rpg 1.6 bpg.
