2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

I won't be able to watch it live tonight, so I went into the guide to record it. ABC and ESPN both show that the draft is from 6-9PM Utah time.

And after talking with Tony last night... I am not sure we are looking to move Kessler... so Memphis getting Clingan doesn't change that potential deal.

It honestly feels like some conversations have occurred VERY recently (in the last couple of days) that have led to this aggressive pivot of signaling.

At this point, I'm hoping for Devin Carter or Shep. I think Carter is a better prospect than Castle and I would be willing to do a small tradeup to 7/8 to secure him.

Also Locke's tirades against older prospects is annoying in that he always frames it as they are playing against 18-20 year olds when the reality is that most college players are also older

It's really more the other way around. The reason why younger guys doing anything in college is impressive is because they are doing it against guys much older than them. I think this is important though because it helps you identify talent outliers which the NBA is a league full of talent outliers.

I've made several posts in the 2023 draft thread about how you shouldn't overlook older players and that they can be productive rotation level guys, and so I do believe you shouldn't automatically discount a player because of their age. However, I do think it's important to weigh in the risk of drafting an older player, as draft history would say they don't typically pan out.

I was about to say, Trent Forrest isn't even white!

I honestly think Castle is pretty similar to Kris Dunn. Trent Forrest is of the same ilk so I can see that.
