2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Nah, the Spurs simply had a bad team, while the Jazz and Toronto were shamelessly blatant this year. The Jazz traded their good players at the deadline and sat down with made-up injuries whoever good was left. Then, when the tanking was complete they miraculously won several games. We got what we deserved.
My dude they tanked their asses off. They just did it for reals instead of for a couple months.

Wargaming a bit here...

1) ATL - Sarr
2) WAS - Topic
3) HOU - Risacher
4) SAS - Dillingham
5) DET - Buzelis (or Knecht with a possible slight trade back)
6) CHA - Holland
7) POR - Williams
8) SAS - Knecht
9) MEM - Clingan
10) UTA - Castle, Sheppard or Collier, maybe Walter

Don't try that hard. There will be trades

No shot CHA takes Holland over Castle.... but I like the optimism

We needed the really bad teams to draft high so we can suck more than them next year. It's going to be a real struggle to lose the most

I would see what's going on with Detroit and see if we can trade up to #5. We gave them Fontecchio. I think they want to start competing.

And you know, we could have done the same: traded away good veterans for picks and put a bad team and young players on the floor for a season. The draft is design to help the teams doing exactly that. But Ainge wanted to be to cute: to play a decent team for a half or season and then either trade away the players or sit them. This is a stupid tactic and it blew up into his face. For a genius GM he somehow cannot grasp the very basics of rebuilding.

The first stage of grieve is denial.
