2024 NBA Draft Reaction Thread

no. I had the most ridiculous interaction with him in all of my time on jazzfanz, then promptly put him on ignore.

You pretended to be a stats expert and invented a statistical process that made it OK for you to have no rationale but also disqualified me from using rationale.

It's in the thread for everyone to see. Ridiculous indeed.

lakers won't play ball. rich pau is threatening teams that if they take him, he'll go play in australia. i still say some team should take one for the team and make him to go australia.

This. Surely some team has more picks than they need. Could set one on fire just for ***** and gigs.

Yeah pretty standard to resolve this via Twitter. Hard to argue that. Thanks.
If you are the parents you write "We are proud of our son for fulfilling his lifelong dream. Whatever differences we have can be resolved, but right now we just want to share his joy with his great accomplishment "

What happened here was extremely trashy. That doesn't mean the girlfriend isn't a problem too, but there is probably a reason why he is running from his family

This, right here

I hope people endlessly crying about "the lack of plan" for the past 1.5 years pause for a second and realize that during that time we drafted 6 solid rookies some of whom have star upside, while retaining our most valuable player assets (post Mitchell/Gobert) and taking care of the cap and adding future draft assets (LAL pick).

"Oh, oh, but John Collins!!"

Well not every swing is a hit. Besides adapting to a new team and/or role doesnt always translate immediately.

If my family member was the victim of grooming and his career was suffering for it I would 100% want people to know the real story.
Kyle's career was suffering by his family going to media to publicize the story, not by his girlfriend.

The media even acknowledged this and reported that Kyle would have gone higher on the board if it wasn't for his family stabbing on the kid's back with the story.

All we heard is this very one sided story coming from his so-called “family”. Have we heard anything from his coach? From his teammates? Staff at Duke? From the kid himself?

Kyle's had two years of good college basketball in one of the best programs in the nation while dating this woman. His coach and teammates loved him and had never once raised any concerns over his character, academics, professionalism, etc. Even if he was “groomed” so what? It's not like his life ever gone dark because of it.

I know people from the outside world has mixed views on Mormon but I thought as Utah fans we should’ve known better.

His family only started commenting on it after Givony broke the story, and it was initally to say that he had a lot of facts wrong.

If you want to say we don't have all the facts, that's perfectly valid. Jumping down his family's throats when we probably have like 1% of the story and have no clue what's true and what isn't is just recklessly jumping to conclusions.

Even if he was “groomed” so what?
You can't be serious.
