If my 16-17 year old son was smashing some 24 year olds cheeks I would definitely not allowed it to happen, but when they turn 18 and they still want those cheeks you can't do **** about it.

Some dudes become gay. Some dudes date people their own age, and I guess some dudes fall in love with an older woman and become a Mormon. You cant control who your child loves.

No, it was already a story and people were already talking about how it was weird. The reason why they commented was because it was already a story. A lot of people were asking why this matters/why did it cause him to drop. His family said it’s because she’s crazy/controlling and they explain why.

So again, the family should have said nothing and its not a story anyone cares about but instead they further ostracized their relationship.

They are acting unreasonably because they shouldn't have said a damn thing. There is zero benefit from them saying anything unless the goal was to piss off Flip which does seem to be the goal.

If they saw the signs of it then why did they not speak up.

If they did speak up and they continued that is him wanting the relationship and knowing full well what the family thought of her. He is not ignorant. I can bet 100% they loudly told him constantly their opinion for a long time. If one is so eager to proclaim the evil of their relationship to the whole world they have done it endlessly to his face.

If the family continues to push it after a long history then they start to look bad too.

one man's grooming is another man's conversion story. peole acting like mormons are some sort of cult where they all take some sort of poison. mormons have like 17 million plus members world wide, they arent grooming people in the basement to suddenly want more wives. this should never have been a story on the biggest day of Flip's life. Reality is we probably know less than 1% of the facts, and it's weird that that's apparently enough for some people to passionately jump to a conclusion.

Stop calling it grooming and use the term the brother actually said.. Mormon grooming. There is an undertone of bigotry here and if that’s the side you are taking then own it.

Hopefully this isn't breaking news to you, but it's very possible to be against grooming without being against Mormonism.

IF she groomed him, and IF she simultaneously converted him to her religion, I feel pretty comfortable saying I don't care about the latter but think the former is pretty bad.
