If we can get to 4th that would be awesome. I’m all in WAGLER but I watched some Caleb Williams highlights last night I’d be a-ok with him too. Samesies for Kingston

Just based on history, I struggle to see the negative impacts that tanking has on developing players. But even if we assume it does, how is it possible that 1-3 wins makes such a big difference in development?

OTOH, I can very easily see how 1-3 wins makes a difference in a tank race.

It’s such a ridiculous argument. And @Elizah Huge still refuses to acknowledge that people are running with this development angle.



I can’t speak for what others have said, but I have never said they won’t do it eventually. I just said it’s dumb to start later. And you were on podcast saying the same thing. The only person I actually recall doubting that it would happen is HH.

To your first point I have seen a small portion of fans say this and still on Twitter even. So I concede on that point there are a handful of people saying it.

I’ve always been on record saying we wouldn’t convey the pick. Did we win a couple games we likely shouldn’t have? Yes, it happens. Just like last night if we would have won did we do something wrong or is that just how the cookie crumbles sometimes?

There was a point we were getting close to winning too many games but since then we have the worst record in the league or at least close to it. It might have been an inflection point for the front office too.

The way it has been navigated now is beautiful but hindsight is 20/20.

There was some low hanging fruit that I think we should have been doing all along….but overall I am happy with the job that the FO has done. I understand there’s a human element to this and they weren’t perfect, but we’ve seen much worse in previous years. This wasn’t a half tank, it was more like a 90/10 tank and that’s pretty good.

Don’t get me started on 2023. This is a 110/100 compared to that.
 
I'm not saying we have to do this, but looking at only a 3 win gap for the worst record, I could see being doable to fight for It If we trade or buyout Nurkic.

Again, not saying I'm advocating for It, as I could see him as a serviceable bench big next season (but I do think his defense limits a lot what his salary could be worth, and negotiate a salary reduction ain't something smooth), just a possibility.

I don't think they started properly, but they made the correct course corrections at an early enough point, so I'm good with that.

We could have done it sooner/more often if we had traded Lauri, or our young core sucked. Again, we are sooooo much better than the teams around us. There is no universe where we have the team we have and we have top 3 odds. We have done about as much fixing as we can and benefitted from Kessler's injury, Lauri's norovirus, and likely Key's ankle.

I used to think like this too but the truth is he doesn’t really affect winning as much as you’d think.

It doesn’t matter where the tanking has us end up. If it shifts us from 10 to 8, great. 8 to 6 great. 6 to 3 great. There is a universe where we started earlier, and we’d be better off for it.
