Lets be clear on what AD wants... AD wants the extension... whether now or in the summer. So he want to land with a team that will pay him and realizes he has the rest of the year to prove that.

You don't trade for Jordan Poole and draft an 18 year old point guard to lead your team unless you are tanking. It was extremely obvious to everyone, but Joe Dumars that they would be terrible this season.

Sure, but playing this season also goes a long way in terms of a team giving him that extension. DAL is not giving it to him, that’s for sure. So his best shot is another team and any team considering it would find it more appealing if they can have him for this year’s playoffs as well.

And get a fun center... who can't stop anyone to pair with your other star big... who doesn't play defense.

Dumars had the three saddest trades of the offseason by himself lol. Just wild stuff.

It feels like Dumars being an awful GM is something that the Ainges should have been able to take advantage of. Maybe they still can?
 
DAL is going to trade AD to ATL for Porzingis and Risacher. Porzingis will be sent home to recover from his illness and Risacher will be sent back to France in an attempt to find his basketball skill and return next season. The NBA community will applaud the DAL for a great piece of business and they will share the EOY award with the Wizards.

Or Risacher will be a focus of the offense and become a great tank commander.

I think Dallas and Brooklyn will be the 2 worst teams in the second half of the year.
