2026 NBA Trade Discussion Thread

So funny to look at Desmond Bane trade and then compare that return to Ja asking price.

Few years ago one was seen as a near guaranteed superstar and maybe "future face of NBA" and other one was a nice role player.
New CBA has inflated the trade value of guys like Murphy, Mikal Bridges, and OG Anunoby. And completely killed the value of guys like Zion, Ja, and Trae.

I agree there is a trend where teams are starting to pay more for high end role players than low end star players. I also think being 2-way player is incredibly valuable these days.

Trade an emerging star for a chance to maybe get a top 2-3 pick and draft someone that might be an emerging star?
Good chance to be better than. And improve our pick also.

Atlanta almost certainly doesn’t do it (though they seem to be hurting for someone with exactly Keyonte’s skill set) but it’s an interesting thought experiment.

If we ever were to trade Lauri, now would be the time. We could take on Jimmy Butler and give GSW a chance for Curry and Green to get a send off with a decent team if they are willing to include future first round picks in the deal.
They don’t have enough we want unless they’re willing to give us all the firsts they legally can

Basically impossible to build a contender with a non superstar max player

If you land AJ or Peterson, yes. I'd take Key over anyone else.
