Aboriginal Voice to Parliament

Had the big vote today to enshrine an aboriginal voice to parliament in the constitution, its lost in a landslide. Even Victoria the most progressive state in the country has voted no. In 1967 Australians voted to recognise Aboriginal people as Australians, 60 years later the country is more prosperous, more secure and more mature, yet Australians are more conservative and less generous to those that have less and have been dispossessed of their country and culture. There is a dark hatred at the heart of this country, 120 years on from white Australia, it is alive and well.

It's really sad how awful colonization has been and continues to be for aboriginal peoples. I can't imagine a constitutional change to always have Native American government representation would ever pass here. We don't even have indoor running water for many on reservations.

People individually can be wonderful, but collectively are awful.
