AK signing with Utah?

For all the jokes, I would not mind seeing what AK would add to this team. A "small" line-up of AK and Favors would block everything in sight. If he comes for one season or 2 seasons under the remaining mid-level exception, I would be pretty ecstatic and Utah could be a Top 5 team in the West. Lakers and OKC have more star power, but Utah would be deeper and more versatile. If he does go to Minnesota, I would be a little nervous as they would battle for a low playoff seed with Love, Rubio, and AK. I'm actually surprised Dallas isn't seriously looking at him, as a starting unit of AK, Dirk, and Kaman would be a pretty good veteran front line with Brand and Marion off the bench and a youthful backcourt of Mayo and Collison.

Too Funny, MoTown!
Hopefully KoC learned his lesson regarding overpaying on AK's first go-round in SLC, back when AK actually HAD the potential to eventually be worth it...

They are working on a trade to clear some cap space. Nobody else that wants him is willing or able to do so to pay AK what he's asking (roughly $8m/year).

I wish there was a way to bookmark this thread somehow, but here me now, bitches: If AK ends up on the 'Wolves, he'll be an all star. There is a handful of us here that see him for what he is, and not for what he isn't -- which is a scapegoat for haters like ManQueef.

Ya dude.. WoW has always been more important than Basketball.

AK started playing basketball at the age of 10, which would be in 1991. I won't even go off on how Warcraft didn't even come out until 1994, let alone WoW in 2004, and just say I'm pretty sure the internet couldn't have handled such a bandwidth back in 1991, which begs the question of How, exactly, WoW was "always more important" to him.

Now, if we can get him on the cheap, I'm pretty sure we can get Blizzard to invest in our team. That, would be worth it for all the cool schwag, and seeing "Paul Willsap" NPC's, and ofcourse a Heroic instance where the Burning Legion, led by Sheron Milliams, is threatening to take over Undercity from Sylvannas.

I must say, my inner MMPORPG fanatic giggled with glee while reading this post. +22 doesn't even begin to do it justice.

So, what's wrong with having other interests besides basketball. I guess, apparently, some of the people on here have only one interest in their life, posting on Jazzfanz. At least he's not one-dimensional: he is close with his family, donates his salary to help underprivileged kids, reads books (wow, that's so degenerate), and likes video games. Oh, and he's a professional basketball player and while not the world's greatest, an elite player by most standards.

I feel kind of gross for agreeing with you, but you speak truth. AK was so poorly and severely handled by Jerry Sloan -- whom I love with an unnatural fervor -- that I find it hard to blame AK for anything that happened. Any team he ends up on will be thanking their lucky stars, and I will instantly be a fan of that team. I think an AK 'Wolves jersey will be a nice addition to my wardrobe.

I guess because he didn't turn out to be as good as Stockton and Malone people hold this against him. This irrational hate on this board of some for AK has more than once made me want to stop posting here because I would prefer not to associate with such immaturity and imbecility.

And then you posted this and I remembered what a whiny, incoherent, stalking windbag you are. Please stop doing us all so many favors and just log out, delete your account, get a vasectomy, and find a nice cliff to go sleep next to.

Whiny, incoherent, stalking -- what a load of crap. Who did I stalk? A guy who sent me some of the most vicious, spiteful messages, PMs and posts, imaginable. I've never been incoherent, that's for sure. Whiny, maybe at times.

I started whining when people started with the personal attacks that weren't a part of this site until Deron joined the Jazz. Why do people have to be so personal about the posts? Why can't they just be civil. That's all I've ever complained about, but it seems the people who are obsessive posters here have a different mindset.

ak and rubio...

playing alongside a creative, quick-footed, pass-first, team-first, open-court, bright point guard is exactly what AK needs to make utah feel silly that we didn't realize all that potential.

Oh my dear Gordon, Nerd.... Make love to me!

And he takes the pass from Rubio, it's up...swish, nothing but air.

You can lead a player to the basket, but you can't put it through the net for him.

Every time the topic of AK comes up the lunacy emerges. Posters who normally are sane make outlandish statements repudiating AK.

So have you watched CSKA this year, Motown? AK actually is a good finisher and wide open, fastbreak basketball has always been his forte. Well, watch the Olympics and see how terrible AK is. And most of the haters came either when Deron arrived or after. That's when this site degenerated into name-calling. And most of these posters came from Illinois, though I know there are some good ones from Illinois too. I don't know why even bother posting this because I must've said this 50 times since this started. I'm just wasting my breath.

No, I'll confess I didn't watch a CSKA game. But even I can finish a fast break. I can't dunk, but I can make a lay-up. AK can't shoot from the outside. He's pretty good on his drives inside at home, because the refs bail him out when he throws his hands up in the air.

It wasn't Deron that wrecked AK. It was AK not working on his game after he signed his big contract. I'm all for guys having interests outside of basketball, whether that be Russian literature or video games. But there has to be a commitment to an employer who is paying you $14M-$17M/yr. AK did the bare minimum. By his shooting and physique EVERY year he retunred to camp, you know his off-season workouts were no better than Joe Sixpack who scrimmages at the YMCA.
