Al Jefferson is the only player in the NBA this season to have 40+ points, 10+ rebounds, and 5+ assists in one game this season. Jefferson had 40 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists tonight on 19-27 shooting from the field. This is way more impressived than other players scoring 40 or more because he did it all by two-pointers.

As much as I'm not his biggest fan, he had a great game tonight. No way the Jazz would have won this one if had not played as he did.

I think it's annoying that when someone from Utah gets a historic game (nobody has put up this statline this year) that hardly anyone in the national media is recognizing it when if Kobe gets the same line, he'll be praised.

Well the Lakers are about the most popular team in sports. Why is this so hard to understand?

I'm sure weezur understands that fine. It doesn't make it any less annoying. The constant fawning over the big market teams is part of what makes espn such a ****ty outlet for sports "journalism."

I actually thought espn was pretty good before they started that whole "heat index" bull crap with Miami. They have gone downhill fast ever since. It seems like before that, there were guys there that favored some teams because they liked the, like Simmons with Boston, and Hollinger with Portland and Atlanta (he liked the Jazz for a while as well) but for the most part they said was was real. Now they have these guys who just report about the stupid big markets. I have gone there increasingly less over the past few years.

AAAAnyway, back to Al, people talk about how Millsap has 'improved' his game every year he has been in the league (this isn't true, he's changed his game, but with every improvement he stops doing something else for example rebounding) yet Al has also improved his game every year he's been here to where he is passing out of double teams, getting assists and at least trying to play some defense. (defense is still not there). my point is that, well, he may be worth the money. Does anyone really belive that Kanter has the mental focus to be a starter? Sure, he fights like a irish boxer, but he is still sort of a kid inside and might not have the maturity to start yet. Understand that I wanted Al gone at times this season, but he is such a good guy and so powerful on offence that I might not be upset at the right price.

Al had a truly fantastic offensive performance tonight. That said, I hope the Utah Jazz front office possesses the wisdom to not allow one game against a 29-win team missing its top two bigmen to skew their analysis of a 3-year body of work. Good for Al, though - great way for him to go out in what should be his final regular season home game in a Jazz uniform.

Well trust me Big Al has everything it takes to be a big time star! but the question is will he under Corbin? ... or will it just be scoring and a little defense here and there ... I'm not understanding why favors isn't starting yet
