Al trade

I see. So you would prefer Corbin focuses on Offense and then later on maybe work on getting the D together.

He should first decide whom he will build the team around and if he has Harris and Big Al on future plans, once he decides where this team is going and make everyones roles more clear (more playing time for Burks, Hayward, Favors and Kanter) , then both our offense and defense will be more system based instead of depending on the individual skills

I listened to locke for a few this afternoon. I caught the segment where he was going off about Jefferson. I know how most of you feel about locke but he had a great point. Jefferson is not an efficient player. Just because he's a 20/10 guy does not mean he should start. I think that instead of trading him Corbin should just bring him off the bench. That may solve a lot of issues we have with no ball movement and pick and roll defense.

Did he get these from the same stats when he said that Jefferson would put up way better numbers than Boozers best season? Did he get these from the same stats when he said Jefferson was going to be an all-star? Locke said stats should Jefferson would be a perfect fit and would put up monster numbers so...

I think those were also the same stats where we thought Deron Williams was going to be a leader of the Jazz, and not a corporate sellout.

i'm surprised to hear that locke ever said anything negative about a jazz player. when he's not busy selling mini ticket packages, he's talking about what a genius tyrone corbin and how uncommonly talented every jazz player is.

that said, i do think this comes down to the fact that for favors to realize his potential, the jazz need to declare a direction sooner rather than later: favors & millsap or jefferson & favors. as much as it pains me to say it, i agree with locke; i don't think al makes the jazz a contender. paul probably doesn't either, but his games complements derrick's a little better, and he does several things well that al doesn't.

I definitely think it should be the Favors, Millsap direction.
Millsap has proven he is a scorer..... and he shoots a great percentage from the field, unlike Jefferson sometimes.
Not to mention they're both defensive minded, and can rebound well.
Sap can also play the 3 position.
I would really love for the KOC to trade Big Al for some decent wing players that can shoot.
You can then solve how thin our front line will be by signing a decent free agent for the bench... like Pryzbilla maybe?

Ok here is how I see the west

Okc - don't see anything here they like ibaka and Perkins

Denver - again not much they would give but a SnT for Wilson chandler would be cool but chandler isn't worth what big al gets paid so another player would have to be added

Portland - I could see Portland wanting him but not willing to give up the assets. Batum would be the top on my wish list

Lac - has nothing nor would the want him

LAL - I could see them want him but only for Bynum. Wouldn't touch anyone else. I think we should trade Harris here.

Sactown - they might want him but for what? Thompson, Garcia, fredette 8-)

Gs - Got nothing we would want

Phoenix - Steve Nash maybe for a couple years.

Dallas - again they are looking for a push to get dwill no takers here.

Houston - best trade partner nice young wings, need a big man and mchale loves big al. Hill, wlliams, Patterson, lee, budgerigar

Sa - not sure what they would think

Memphis - I would do a trade for gay but that is in another thread.

Minny - any of their young wings would help

No - they need a 4 have some pieces.

I like the Idea of trading Big Al to Houston for T. WIlliams, G. Dragic, and a 2012 draft pick (maybe try and ask for J. Hill too)

Did someone mention JImmer?

Wilson Chandler would have to get somewhere between $9.2 and $9.3 for the money to work on a straight swap.

We can just outright sign Chandler if we want too. They just pumped money into Affalo and Nene, and will soon have to put some into Lawson. Not sure where their priorities stand on Chandler.

In case it isn't apparent, the Jazz offense is designed to get the ball to Big Al to let him score. He doesn't get paid to pile up assist, he gets paid to get points in the paint and to rebound. He is undersized against his opponent every night, but Big Al works his butt off to get shots off in the paint. He isn't fading away like Boozer. And who is Big Al supposed to pass to...Hayward, Raja, Devin. Hell no, just keep shooting Big Al.

I think all those guys shoot decent three point %'s when left wide open.

Jefferson made a really nice pass last night. I wish I had tevo, can't remember who it was to but it was something I'd never seen him do before. He also has consistently been rotating effectively inside and getting those help blocks a lot of people said he can't get. Jefferson has been defending the rim. He's been looking for fouls a little more too.

Nada. There is no cap room after all holds are taken in. MLE money cannot be used to sign free agents. They could give up the MLE but that still wouldn't be enough to acquire Wilson Chandler.
