Seeing the name of Musk’s American Party reminded me of an earlier American Party, more commonly known as the Know Nothing Party, and reflecting some of the same fears present in America today.

I think Trump's ultimate plan is to suspend presidential votes entirely. He'll declare a national state of emergency and suspend the vote, and the supreme Court will say it's within his presidential prerogative to do so. The table is set for the Trump dictatorship to take over. He doesn't need votes siphoned. He wants chaos to give him the illusion of an emergency that enough people will support that he simply takes over and our democracy goes down with a whimper.

Hence most every accusation is a confession. We really should expect to see Republicans pull out all the stops to steal the election, if they need to. They tried to steal the 2020 election.

Well there is some evidence they actually succeeded in stealing the 24 election, with discrepancies in swing states where the entire ballot swung blue with the singular exception of the one line item of president which swung red. Of course the next step forward for the fascists is simply doing away with the elections entirely and they are on track to do exactly that.

Right now our biggest hope is enough mid-terms flip blue to allow an impeachment and conviction in one fell swoop. If in the end we are looking to this weird new party from Musk to disrupt the vote for the Republicans then realistically all hope will already be lost.
