What's new

Any advice for quality TV Series to watch with gf?

The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, New Girl...

I don't know. Just listing off shows I've been watching. If she doesn't like gore, horror, or comedy, well then...nevermind. For you...there's enough nudity and "sexy sexy" scenes and rubber suits in American Horror Story to keep you entertained for more than half an hour. And New Girl is funny...if you have a weird sense of humor like me.

Watch Full House or something. You can never go wrong with Danny Tanner.

to be honest prison break SUCKS.

season 1 is extremly Good. they should have ended it then and there. but it jumped the fence pretty quick.

i think prison breka holds the record for quality difference between greatest season and worse season

Yeah, we're noticing that the series is going downhill fast.

What did you think of the finale of Homeland?
Hmmm... I'll try to not post any spoilers, but stop reading anyways if you haven't seen it.

I loved the series, and I feel horrible for saying this, but I almost wish brody ould not have listened to his daughter on the phone! But I guess they want a season 2! I also loved Claire Daynes and am interested to see where they go next year. The finale was very up and down for me though. I loved it and hated it at the same time.

I loved American Horror Story. OP might want to go find the thread discussing prople's favorite shows from the last year.

This show made me realize something. I've been watching so many excellent series on AMC, HBO and SHO, to the exclusion of watching very many movies, but something is missing. Homeland drove it home. I was looking for a climax and resolution. I didn't get that. I'm tired of no climax, I NEED A CLIMAX SO BAD!

I'm not going to watch Homeland next year bacause I don't need to watch another evening soap opera. Loved the show right up until they denied me a climax.

Females in lead roles:

Ghost Whisperer
Dead Like Me
Pushing Daisies
Medium
Missing

British (sexy accents):

Sherlock
Luther

Young women might enjoy these high school dramas:

Teen Wolf
Switched at Birth

Spartacus, blood fesival, too many muscular men, maybe when I'm back to the gym next summer, I give it a shot. Thanks Scat, for advice.

Californication, she may like this. Looking into it.. Thanks, Gameface.

The Wire, sounds interesting but I really don't think I can survive 60 mins. I can hardly watch movies, I know I'm weird. Thanks, Wes.

Modern Family, that Sofia Vergara disinclined me, don't know why. True Blood, too long for me. Glee, didn't like their music. The Big Bang theory, looks funny, plus that four idiots may make me look like the coolest guy. Will consider it, thanks Dutch and TheSilencer1313.

Homeland, unfinished and didn't like the theme. Curb your enthusiasm, there were ones who say "give it a try If you loved Seinfeld". So I did, I've watched the first episode. And I hated it. Maybe it's my bias, but whatever... Bored to Death, will consider it. Thanks for advices, Mr. McGibblets.

Arrested Development, actually I've seen this series and liked it. Thanks anyway Colton.

Trading Spaces, thanks anyway ShaggyReal.

How I Met Your Mother, after the longest journey of my TV experience as with Seinfeld, I'm not into this kind of long series. Breaking Bad, it does look rough. Thanks anyway, dantheman.

Game of Thrones, too popular here in Turkey, so you know what I mean, it's like Lakers. Plus 60 mins. Thanks though, Hantlers.

The Walking Dead, man I was almost gonna throw up my lunch while looking into this. American Horror Story, long and weird, interesting though. New Girl, I would try it, but, I had a crush with that big blue eyed girl(Zooey Deschanel) and my gf knows it. Thanks for advices, jazz_fanatic.

Millsapa, thanks for your suggetions too, I will look into them.

Special thanks to Franklin, his answer was different and kinda motivated me to do some stupid and crazy things.

But my most special thanks go to the "default".

Hey default, I can't believe this. I searched for "The Vampire Diaries" and I was shocked by the results. The lead girl Elena is almost identical with my gf, it's f* unbelievable. I'm searching the net for her last two hours and it makes me only more surprised. Their voices are close too. Elena is a bit more dark-skinned though. Now I found out she is Bulgarian, and my gf is Greek, what a coincedence! Now I'm eager to tell my gf about this show. By the way, I was uncertain to start this thread because it's kinda stupid but now I'm glad for I did. This is so weird, I think I found what I'm looking for. Thanks to you "default", thanks a lot my friend...:)

Enjoy. FYI, this is season three, so there are plenty of episodes to catch up on.

That's a great way of explaining it - climax. That's what was frustrating to me. Watching so many HBO and AMC shows lately has also made me realize the story development in movies is just so shallow. They don't do it for me like a good, well developed, tv story.
