Anyone out there an ESPN insider subscriber?

Dont get all salty at me Stoked, bro. We all need to pay our part. Following the teachings of Trump.

Hill pickup was good. Spacing between Favors/Gobert is a concern, we aren't athletic enough. Our depth is good, any injuries will have smaller impact. We will likely make it to the final four teams in the Western Conference. Hayward injury sucks, but should have minimal impact on season.

It's 5 different ESPN "experts" weighing in on where the Jazz sit in the western conference. Not easy to summarize since there are diverging opinions, but here are a few points:
** Likely a top 4 or even top 3 team in the WC. Early-season favorite to win a round in the POs if they get homecourt.
** Depth is a major strength
** Favors and Gobert are great individually, but don't fit terribly well, creating spacing issues.
** Don't need to trade anyone and should see what they have. Could explore moving Alec Burks.
** Losing Hayward for a month is a blow, but the team should be able to tread water with Joe Johnson filling in; the loss puts more pressure on Exum to create.
** Weakness may be lack of athleticism and difficulty creating shots due to lack of an offensively talented player who can single-handedly break down the defense.

Here is the exact quote from Ford in the article asking what the biggest issue facing the Jazz is this season.

Ford: Lack of athleticism. The Jazz have one of the deepest teams in the league. But they'll be vulnerable to super-athletic teams. It's not a squad of elite athletes, with the exception of the injured Alec Burks. That could end up causing some problems for them defensively in certain situations.

Thanks
Makes more sense now lol

This article was linked in this as well which is good news for Jazz. It shows that there is not really any correlation for losing/winning close games except that it roughly follows the same as teams overall W/L. They conclude you shouldnt read into W\L in close games very much, I agree. Its mostly luck and Jazz had bad luck in those games last year.
