What's new

Are the Jazz gonna trade for Nerlens Noel?

I've been clear.. Favors>>>Noel

The counter; Noel has way more fire.. goes after it on both sides like NO ONE I have ever seen... that's a big deal. Big.

I don't want to trade.. but wanted everyone to know that Noel would be one at practice, the locker room, and in game to give EVERYTHING.. which is far better than Favors.
Favors showed some fire the last month or so. I think he felt overshadowed by Al and Paul and deferred to the veterans too much. I predict we'll see a different Derrick - and Enes - when they take the court as starters.

If Cleveland is trading the #1, they are going for a proven all-star that can get them to the playoffs. Granger and Indiana's #23 + 2 future firsts might barely be able to do it.

Are you kidding? Granger is better than any guy in this draft. You want to give the Cavs two future picks? The Cavs are wanting to trade out of the first pick so they are not going to get a one-sided trade.

If the Jazz were to do this trade it might send me into retirement as a fan. Seriously, Favors is >>>>>> Noel. If the Jazz play Favors 30+ minutes a nite and feature him, then he will be having a big season.

Best post of the thread.

So we need to trade for Noel's heart? Have it removed, and inserted into the cowardly lion?

Normally that is the case but this year is lacking with the Star power. Because most of these guys are so questionable in the high part of the draft which is rare. Usually there is about 3 guys who you know have the ability. These guys I don't see it. Great role players and rotation bench guys.

There are rumors of a trade with the Bucks for #3 and all they would give up is Ersan Ilyasova and another Bucks player which is unknown.

People can say that is not enough but teams see the problem in this draft with the upper class. Not worth what it usually is.

As others have said Favors >>> Noel not only in terms of his current ability, but his potential. However, doing this trade almost certainly would give us a worse record, and thus, a higher pick in 2014. That makes it a little interesting, but in the end I wouldn't be able to take a risk like that. Favors is too much better than Noel. And who knows? We may be able to keep Favors and still get that top 3 pick in 2014 if everything comes together. That should be our goal.

Incidentally.. Noel is a PERFECT example of something I've been saying for years about blocks and steals being overrated. I guarantee you Noel will be a better shot-blocker than Favors and probably have triple the steals... but Favors will be the better overall defender.

I know that you don't want to trade Favors but losing him for the #1 this year and a top 3 next year is not worth it.

What about Cleveland trading the #1 pick, next year's pick (top #3) protected for Favors and the Jazz #21, Burks and maybe something else. Would you guys do that? I don't know if I would, but you would have to think about it long and hard. Could you imagine if the Jazz got two top 10 picks next year? Is Favors worth that?

Also, if you are Cleveland and you think you can get LeBron next summer, Kyrie, Favors, Waiters isn't a bad team around LeBron. Toss in another 10 million 2 guard and you are a title contending team.

Noel has no offense in his game, and he weighs 200 pds. Favors is a way better player and it isn't even close. I don't think I'm a Jazz homer for seeing the obvious. Noel has already been seriously hurt and who knows if he can even carry weight?
