Are you a DVE Actor?

DVE stands for Domestic Violent Extremist. It is the term the FBI is using to refer to potential domestic terrorists. To be classified as a DVE Actor and put on the watch list only requires that you express a view in opposition to open borders, COVID-19 lockdowns, or vaccine mandates. There are a number of other views that will land you on the list.

It isn’t only the expression of opinions that will get you labeled as a DEV Actor. It you used a credit card or debit card to purchase anything at recreational stores such as Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shop, or Dick’s Sporting Goods then you’re on the DVE Actor list.

If you are on the list then you are being actively surveilled, and if you haven’t you’re probably still being actively surveilled. No warrants are needed thanks to the Patriot Act which specifically authorized the Department of the Treasury to create FinCEN, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network to catch you purchasing a soccer ball for your daughter at the terrorist store.

A Congressional Select Subcommittee released a report yesterday providing some details on the program to monitor you.

I guess I am on the list.
I don't really care though.
I guess they will continue the surveillance on me that has been being done for decades.
Don't really care if the surveillance continues either.

I'm a pretty boring person to surveil

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

Doesn't apply though because I am on the list. I am DVE actor. The thing you posted was saying I did not speak out because I was not a whatever. I am the thing that they are coming for!

I mean just last week I was talking to a co worker about Hawaii and the next time I opened my chrome browser there was an add/article about Hawaii on it! It was terrifying but life goes on I guess

Scare-mongering. Notice the document did not suggest any new laws to restrict these activities. GOP Congresspeople merely ant this power to re-directed at those they consider to be threatening.

Each of us is having every word and on-line every electronic transaction stored, regardless of suspicion.

HSBC sharing this type of info but covering up cartel money laundering is very interesting. Quite the double life.

While it sounds like it’s the banks “voluntarily” offering up this information, it sure sounds like there is a payoff somewhere. Tax savings probably, or some other bank benefit or law change in their favor.

A bank, let alone “all” of them would not just decide to start giving the fed client info at a transactional level without a big payoff. They live in the margins, they got a win.

I also wonder if credit unions and smaller institutions are doing this but just aren’t named.

Only the MAGA controlled Republican Party could create a Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, while offering full throated support of their soon to be nominee for the presidency, who promises to weaponize the federal government, and calls himself a proud dissident. Not sure it gets more surreal. If Trump can pull it off, with the narrative of victimhood, and flipping consensus reality into his reality, what an epic con job.

Trump and doublespeak….

Anyway….

20 years ago if the Government told you they were going to put a tracker and microphone on basically every American there would have been outrage.

Now we willingly pay high prices to carry these devices in their pockets. And as Fish said, I KNOW we are being listened to. I was on a beach in California, talking with my FIL about a guy in the beach with a prosthetic leg, and how amazing it worked in deep sand. My cookies on my phone had prosthetic ads popping up for days. Plenty of stories like this.

It is a bit worrisome, as I think Government surveillance has slowly but consistently increased since 9-11, and there probably should be some limits without suspicion. WA tracks license plates with cameras now, so they always know where I go.

On the other hand if I were to get lost or injured or something in the mountains on a hiking or fishing expedition then I sure would be glad if I was found due being tracked and monitored.

It is one thing to have the ability to be tracked when wanted vs all the time.

You wouldn't be found and rescued, you'd get a push notification for a sale on thermal blankets.

It's also one thing to be able to predict the future to know when you will want to be tracked or when tracking will be beneficial to you.

I have a personal locator beacon I take when in the backcountry. I can turn it on when I need help...

That's a good idea. I know I don't have one of those things or know anyone else who does

I wonder if you would take it with you if you were unexpectedly abducted or something.

There are many scenarios when being able to track a phone makes sense, like when someone is abducted. You know, having some probable cause before the tracking is done.

Also, the beacons are relatively cheap. I do solo backpacking trips somewhat regularly, so having a GPS locator gives some peace of mind to my family (and myself). Cost is really not bad. Future phones connected to Starlink will make these obsolete, and also keep us connected everywhere, which makes me sad in a lot of ways. I like getting away from it all...
