So because it is a republican arguement means it is any less valid than a democrat arguement? SOmetimes you have to give the other guy something he wants to get something you want.

You misunderstood me. I want saying it's not a valid argument. I was just pointing to an example where democrats compromised (and republicans used it to move further to the right).
