Bell's streak

Had to read this twice to confirm. From SLTRIB

The 12-year veteran drilled all three of his 3-point attempts Sunday during Utah’s 101-85 loss to the Rockets. He has made 41.1 percent of his 3s this season after shooting 35.2 percent during 2011-12.

The fiery Bell is riding one of his best hot streaks in three seasons, hitting 17 of 30 beyond the arc since Feb. 6. But after watching the Jazz collapse on the road yet again Sunday, Bell declined to acknowledge his soft touch.

"I don’t really worry about that, man. I just play ball, man," said Bell, who’s hit at least one 3 in 18 consecutive games. The streak stretches back to Jan. 11, and is the longest active run in the NBA.

Did any of you see this coming?

Probably not. Most of us were busy discussing how to dump Bell

I thought it was laughable that everyone thought a CAREER 40% 3pt shooter had just lost his shot in one season. He might not create offense, but he spreads the floor for others and watching him fight through screens is one of my favorite side action parts of the game to watch.

For ever more fun, watch Hayward run through screens, then watch Raja. I think Raja literally slaps the **** out of people who are guarding him to get open.

Add on the fact that he is having his most efficient season at the age of 35 is pretty impressive. If Hayward could find his shooting touch, we would actually have a starting wing duo that would have to be respected from deep.

Raja has turned it around. I give him a lot of credit but he still should be coming off the bench.

Bell actually does provide veteran leadership. He's been hitting his shots, and playing good defense. Nobody was harsher than me on Raja when he was playing like total garbage at the start of the season. But right now, he's doing precisely what's expected of him. Not every starter needs to be a scoring machine. Raja is the 5th option on offense, and about the only one on the team who can hit a 3.

If/When the Jazz trade for a wing, we'll probably be having a different conversation. Meanwhile Bell and Burks should split the SG minutes. CJ should relief Hayward for 15ish minutes a game, and Howard should not touch the ball.

Now's the time to trade him. The Clippers lost out on JR Smith, so they need a 2-guard and a evteran presence to replace Billups.

Raja Bell and Devin Harris for Mo Williams

I would love this. But it's doubtful.

Bell was bad last season, and started the season horribly this year. He has turned it around, and is playing as he should finally.
He's making a lot of the 3 balls he's shooting now, which isn't many. He's not a volume shooter.
He makes his shots in the flow of the offense, and doesn't force too much. Other than his three point shooting he really doesn't do much else
for us stat wise. He doesn't rebound, steal, or block many shots. His defense is vastly overrated at this point in his career. So he's making open
3 pt shots. Good job, but let's not get carried away. He does help the offensive flow for the most part, and do things that don't show up on a stat sheet.

He's not the future though, and he cannot stand in the way of Burks or Hayward. Bell is probably the most valuable off the court, in practice, and teaching
on the sidelines. I've seen him take a very hands on approach with the younger players. Got to commend him for that.

It's coming at a great time. With the Jazz slumping and still having to play 5 more away vs. home games, I think Greggy Boy and KOC have to concede Utah is NOT a playoff team. Hopefully that means several vets will be offered to contenders looking to improve their depth. Raja has a pretty good reputation around the league. Maybe he's worth a late first to a team looking for a decent defender who can also hit some 3's.

Raja's a tough dude. We all hated him to start the season and hated him last year. I love that he came back and I love that he's a vet teaching the youngsters how to battle. I hope he stays in Utah till he's done.

He did a great job on Kevin Martin last night. I think with Bell guarding him he was 1 for 7 on the night, then Burks started guarding him and he went on a streak. His on-ball defense isn't what it use to be, but his off-ball defense is still superb.

Agreed. He also had the same effect on Monta Ellis this season...I think.
And Paul George, who is like 10'' taller than him.

Bell only played against Monta once this season (he was out the other game). Monta was the starting PG for the game Bell played, so Bell didn't guard him (until the last play where Monta took to long to shoot and Bell played good D).

The game Bell didn't play Ellis torched us. The game he did play Ellis shot poorly, but go to the line a ridiculous amount of times.
