LOL.. the CP3 vs DWill saga continues with Burke vs McCollum...

I fully trust the Jazz FO decision in Burke over McCollum though. I thought all along Burke was out of our reach but I want Burke over any point guard in this draft, I loved Nate Wolters but not more than TB.

Obviously the Jazz FO had Burke rated higher or they wouldn't have taken him. And I am not saying Burke won't end up being better but as of now I would have taken CJ. I suppose everyone remembers that virtually every team had Raul Lopez rated higher than Tony Parker - that was not simply a Jazz thing.

As much as Deron didn't work out for the Jazz, those first few years I thought the front office made the right decision with CP3 and all his injuries but now I look at it and I think CP3 would of stayed in NOLA if they put a better team around him and CP3 makes his teammates better unlike DWill does even though DWill is pretty good, he isn't on CP3's level. And I think the Jazz FO looks at this and what helped them make this decision between TB and McCollum.

CJ is a name that puts a bad taste in my mouth. McCullom couldn't have gone to a worse situation in my opinion. And Trey landed in the perfect place.

You could look at that situation either way with McCollum. It's bad for him cause he won't get the minutes/touches he would on some other teams, but at the same time, his ability to play PG full time has always been in question. Maybe being in a situation where he doesn't have to play all his minutes at PG will be a blessing to him.

We have some freakin liars here!! I know nobody likes to bash a player after we drafted them. Optimism is usually high but nothing has changed in terms of the players.

I saw multiple people on this board say CJ was better than Burke.

UGLI was one of them but he already admitted it, so props to him. But I know there are more of you. I would search it but too much work. Admit to your sacrilegious opinions you had against Trey! ;)

I wanted mccollum more than burke.

I thought there would be a chance to draft CJ. So I talked myself into liking it. Burke is a superior player. Bar none

If I'm being honest I was a bit partial to McCollum, but I honestly didn't give Burke much thought since I didn't think there was a chance (and that the Jazz would be aggressive enough) to get him.

I find it hard to argue too much either way. The more I read about Burke the more I'm excited to see him play next year. He's a great P&R PG and is a pretty good shooter.

As of now I'm glad they chose Burke. He seems to have all the tools to be at least a solid PG in this league. That being said another question is how many here would have been upset if the Jazz did that trade for McCollum instead of Burke. I wouldn't have been, but I trust the Jazz's scouting department for better or worse. They generally have a good track record the past 4-5 years (not that they are perfect by any means).

Not me.

Im on board with Burke now tho dont worry.

I'm with these two. I believe right now that CJ is better, but think Burke will pass him up in a couple years. As a fan of CJ, I think the Blazers did him a disservice drafting him. I can only imagine they want him to play sg. I think he makes a better pg in the league. As a Blazer he'll either succeed as a sg or backup pg. at 6-3 he has an uphill battle trying to make it as a sg.

I hated the pick on draft night. I wanted CJ or Bazz, but the more I read and watch tape the more I like. Didn't study him much before because I thought he was unattainable. Now I realize Burke is exactly what this team needs. The jazz always fell apart late in close games. Whoever had the ball late looked like they were running around with their heads cut off. Burke thrives in these moments and will be a calming influence and a closer in these situations. Now I'm glad we picked Burke over CJ or Bazz.

Awesome draft.
