He gave the Jazz an A. It is a very long article, I'll post below the 3% of the article that pertains to Utah. I agree 100% with him and think KOC deserves a ton of credit.

UTAH JAZZ
Key additions: Enes Kanter (draft), Josh Howard (FA), Alec Burks (draft)

Key subtractions: Andrei Kirilenko, Ronnie Price

Jazz GM Kevin O'Connor never gets the credit he's deserved all of these years in Utah. No one has figured out how to completely rebuild a roster as quickly and thoroughly as O'Connor has. O'Connor made the boldest move of anyone at last season's trade deadline when he abruptly traded Deron Williams to the Nets for Derrick Favors and draft picks.

O'Connor used one of those assets to draft Enes Kanter with the No. 3 pick. Then he used his own pick to bring in Alec Burks. Put those two players together with Favors and last year's lottery pick Gordon Hayward and the Jazz suddenly have one of the best young cores in the NBA. All four players have the ability to be All-Stars if they live up to their potential.

What makes O'Connor one of the best in the business is that he's doing the rebuilding while still putting a respectable team on the floor. He has solid veterans like Devin Harris, Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson still on the roster and added more depth by getting Josh Howard on a super cheap deal.

It's rare that you'll find a team that can compete for a playoff spot and be developing four excellent prospects at the same time. O'Connor has pulled that off this year.

GRADE: A

I'm not sure what other move would have made sense for the Jazz right now. We need to see what we have in Burks, Hayward, Kanter and Favors, plus see if Millsap can be a force at the SF spot. The team is a nice blend of experience and talent with potential to make the playoffs. This is a good situation to develop the young talent. Expectations aren't set too low. There's competition for every spot on the floor. There's talent at every position. We're good to go.

Hopefully, someone will emerge as a potential superstar this year.

Amen. This year's goal: give the young 'uns plenty of playing time, and lose a lot of games. Let's get our Kevin Durant, Michael Jordan, Kobe, etc to go with Kanter, Favors, Hayward, and Burks.

Just don't understand all the KOC hate on this board.

Is KOC perfect? No. But the Jazz have been competetive year in and year out with 1-2 exceptions. That is hard to do when Utah is not a popular destination for FAs. That takes a level of skill in the front office as well as the court. They have to find ways to trade for the right players and draft the right players.
