Teams should be decided by shooting free throws, the way the rest of us do it.

Teams should still be east vs west. I think the entire movement to make this a child's playground game is ridiculous.

Tbh, a captain being able to captain the following year isn't really enticing to me (and Lebron, Durant and Giannis did not good jobs at it, tho Giannis for different reasons)

I'd actually be more curious over what would be Curry's choices, or Embiid, even DeRozan. Instead we see the same guys with their same whines as the "oh, how terrible it is that we're sitting 6th to worse in our conference, that shouldn't happen to us, 5 star future multiple mvps recruits since born"

In the 90’s the players would’ve been more concerned about winning and would’ve picked Gobert much higher hoping he’d play at least a little defense so they can have the upper hand. Don’t get me wrong the game was still bad back then, but nothing compared to what it is now. It was still a more competitive game through and through, and not just the last few minutes of the game.

I look at it a bit differently. For me the game (the real game) has improved exponentially from the Star driven David Stern years. Lebron and Durant are just remnants from a bygone era, like figureheads. But in reality both their teams are a joke this year because the league and officiating has improved to a point where they can’t live on the Star Treatment to the same extent today.

But the Allstar game is a vestige of the bygone era where the spectacle is all that matters like WWE Wrestling. A televised draft was a terrible idea even if it shills for the event because it discriminates against defensive specialists. Anybody who’s watched an All Star game knows that any semblance of defense is frowned upon in the All Star game.

Ya I wont be going up too high. Maybe 5500 feet or something and its a river and they typically dont freeze (though occasionally they do)

That's where the Jr high level of maturity and toxic masculinity comes in, they do it publicly specifically to humiliate someone. The whole concept of picking teams like this means someone gets picked last. That is the conceit of the whole thing.
