Cody Williams Hype and Appreciation Thread

I wouldn't try to put too much weight on Cody too quickly. If he's added 15 or 20 lbs at this point, that's enough for now. David Locke was suggesting he'd get up to 225 lbs eventually. I wouldn't go that far. He needs his mobility and whatever vertical explosiveness he can get.

Dude looks like he fast forwarded 5 years. He will be a lot harder to move out of the post than he was as a Rookie.
In that video he said he weighs about 245. Beast. I think he was about 210 as a rookie.

At this point I'm just flipping Cody and Flips draft position in my mind so I'm no longer judging Cody as a lottery pick. Flip looks like he was worth the 10th pick so that makes the draft solid. Cody on the other hand is showing enough upside that I view him as a solid pick at 32.

You pay in the draft for potential defensive and offensive versatility. You also have to pay for potential star power. Flip has offensive versatility but not defensive versatility.

Cody just the potential for both. Same with Hendricks.

I also think that Cody is getting worn out by playing so many minutes. Hopefully he can figure out how to sustain his effort for more than 7-8 minute stretches.

You seem like a very intelligent human being. I'm not sure how you can't understand how these things are related.
Maybe but not not necessarily.
You can look like LeBron and be unskilled and have a poor mentality.
Might or might not be the case with Cody

Cody shooting .429 from 3 in this summer league.

The mentality will come. Would love to see him do some Izzo/Spartans like drills to work on the aggressive mentality of crashing the boards. Even on the sweet floater he hit, you can see once he releases it, he just stands there watching, with no getting into position to grab off a miss. Not worried about it. He obviously worked his *** off the last few months. These are things coaching and a talented older brother can push him to do.
