Yup, and cancer treatments severely weaken the immune system.

When I was undergoing heavy chemo we more or less put the house in lockdown or I stayed at my parent's house to control who I was exposed to, especially creating distance from my kids who were little at the time and basically just vectors of disease from elementary school. Even then it was pneumonia that almost killed me twice, not the cancer itself.
