CP3/Spurs/Jazz Possibilities

Bittersweet. On the one hand, the Clippers would be destroyed and the Jazz would be the 3rd best team in the West if Houston can't retool. But facing a team with both Kawhi and CP running the Spurs system is going to be a nightmare.

CP3 rarely makes it through the post season healthy. They would be good but if they gave up their depth and CP3 isn't healthy... we'd beat that team... assuming we retain our guys.

Looking at the juggernaut that Golden State is, it would be hard to imagine CP not joining up in San Antonio.

The Spurs would not lose Aldridge. But they would likely have to lose either Gasol or Parker and all of their free agents. Manu would have to take a huge pay cut to stay if he doesn't retire. And even after all of that maneuvering San Antonio wouldn't be able to offer CP3 the max. He'd have to settle for around 23-24 million per year. I just don't see it happening.

I would be all for this happening... trickle effect is Mills would leave and likely sign with Philly... he has ties to Brett Brown. Leaves only Sacramento and Brooklyn as viable candidates to max out Hill or offer a big money offer that we would not want to match. Brooklyn I think is smarter than that... Sacramento likely gets a pg in the draft.

Pair this with Indiana potentially trading PG and then Teague would want to leave (I think). Basically we want other teams PGs to move as it uses up available cap space and constricts the market on Hill.

Hopefully it comes down to how Hill wants to finish his career... take less money and try knock of the warriors or get paid and flounder around for the next 4 years and possibly have played his last playoff game.

I'm still dirty we couldn't extend him and wasted that $14mil in cap space. I'm at 4 yrs $70Mil.

I like the idea of CP3 at the Jazz but the reality will be very different. I aint got time for all CP3's on court BS! and I'd hate for that to spread through our locker room.

It would be asinine for Paul to stay in LA and continue to fight against Golden State with their talent pool. I don't think $$$ is as big of a consideration as some are making out here. He already has more than he will ever spend, and he lacks a serious trophy.

He would be a fool to not take the opportunity to team up with Leonard, Aldrich, and Popovich.

Lmao
CP3 would for one never go to Utah and
It still wouldn't make them close 2 GSW
Paul has underachieved at every stop on his road so why would that change going to Jazz?

If we got CP3 and hayward stays, we are gonna be so close to Warriors. And only team in the league who has a chance to compete with them.

Paul has underachieved lol
He has been the best pg, in a league full of great point guards, for most years of his career. Guaranteed hall of famer, many many all star appearances, many all nba teams and all defensive teams.......

You could say his teams have underachieved, it is in fact a team sport that he plays, but Paul himself has been a fantastic nba player and every team in the league would love to have guys like him.
