Dallas Mavericks @ Utah Jazz GAME THREAD (Airing on TNT, January 19th, 2012 - 8:30 pm Utah time)

Nice effort by the Jazz but the glaring weakness of this team showed up tonight. Bad outside shooting.

Harris was horrible tonight. In the first half the Jazz started chucking up jump shots instead of passing the ball. They got down by 13 pts playing selfishly. I am proud of the effort so I am not too bummed out but an average game by Harris and the Jazz win.

I like what Watson did. Dirk should have gotten another technical for smacking the ball out of Favors hands which would have been his second. I am sorrow but throwing out Favors was simply ridiculous.

Could have used Josh Howard big time this game, we don't have anyone else who can guard the big and athletic SFs like Marion.

You know Ty did horrible when he does exactly what HeavenHarris suggested.

I have become so tired of Devin Harris. I see him demanding a trade. He looks completely lost out there. Im starting to think that The Horn sold his soud for his shooting touch and now the Jazz will forever be awfull from behind the arc.

Devin Harris didn't get carved up by Roddy Beaubois tonight....he hardly even played....but continue your hate train.

0-7. Despite Beaubois, Harris makes just 2 shots, the Jazz win the game. 2-7 FGs - Is that too much?

2 assists. I've never played in the NBA, but I imagine it's pretty damn hard to play effective NBA basketball if you have a PG who doesn't create anything for his teammates. But maybe that's just crazy talk.

today we lost because we were supposed to lose, they are much more experienced team than us, they just managed to win with making some aggressive defense under the rim and playing ball smart. We were in the game till the last min thanks to our hustle plays, and steals finishing with fastbreak points. But we still dont know how to play the end of the game. Everyone is putting effort on the court, but our defense is too risky for getting 3 pointers in. We have many things to figure out on the court, but still it is good that the team gives the fans excitement even though going through a rebuilding period.

Dallas is not gonna be champions this year but they are still contenders and they play very well, it is good that we play head to head against a team like that. Despite of the loss, it was still a good game to watch, thanks to especially Hayward who showed us there is not much he cant do in the court, who cares if he couldnt make every jumper he took.

Harris? The worst point guard in NBA. Al Jefferson Black Hole - 0/5 in the last minutes. They killed our team.

In all fairness Big Al has 6 assists in the last two games and is averaging 2 assists a game this season. That is a huge step in the right direction for him.

Harris is not the worst PG not even close. I do think that is he completely wrong for the Jazz however.

Every Jazz player should watch how the Mavs play PnR D. They get the ballhandler out so high every freaking time that they kill any offense off that play.

Al was good tonight and Millsap was the forward who got us in most trouble by taking some bad shots. Hayward really needs to find his groove so that the shots doesn`t take two bounces and out, but goes in. Harris really needs to find his former self or else he is going to have trouble getting even an MLE-contract when he is done here in 1,5 seasons.

That's a great point about Howard. Marion would have had a much harder time. Also, Devin Harris is going to come around. Don't give up on him yet.

Al was aggressive early, attacking the basket and keeping the Jazz close. Both he and Millsap (40 minutes tonight) were winded down the stretch, and it showed. Really could have used Josh Howard tonight to defend Marion. Oh well.

On the flip side, they killed us with their PnR on offense. They run it relentlessly, but what makes the Mavs different is how they use the PnR to then set up the rest of their offense. They get a low post with Marion, they get an extra pass on the perimeter. The PnR is only a first motion for them. They have so many other things they run off it beside the 2 on 2 game.

I respect Big Al, especially when he passes more than Harris. Jefferson wants to win and it shows, he took the ball many times in the final minutes because there's no else out there that can make a decent shot. Who is he going to pass it to? Harris, Bell? Harris needs to realize if he's going to suck, he should learn to be a superb passer.

They're able to overplay because the Jazz don't have a point guard who can exploit it AND because the Mavs D collapses on the roll man, which is helped by the lack of outside shooting for the Jazz.
