What's new

David Stockton

John foolishly married for love, and dun goofed his warrior lineage. If he would've taken example from Lavar we could have had three Johnellos coming through the Utah shute.

Jonzo Jonelo LiJongelo

Man, Lijongelo is such a beautiful name. It's pronounced lee-jun-gello. It means lion with the spirit of a serial killer, in ancient Swahili.

Stockton looked pretty bad but I loved seeing him get minutes. I tuned out the rest of the game and focused on him only.

I'm sure he doesn't need the money, but it's always nice when a g league player picks up over $60,000 from 2 10-day contracts. Those guys don't make Jack squat unless they get huge summer league bonuses, but that's a small % of them.

Money will be the factor that pushes draft prospects into the G-League. Once the NBA accepts that reality, I think you’ll see a lot more guys choose that route over one and done.

There’s no revenue there, though. Unless the NBA starts heavily subsidizing it to make it a legit training ground, there’s no way to raise those salaries. I don’t know how many teams actually own G league clubs, but you’re only investing on a couple guys (maybe) and the rest is filler.

Can you imagine how bad it would wreck the NCAA and grow g-league revenue if they had a HS draft that required 1 year in the minors at, say, $150,000? People would start watching.

The next year their team would have the option to sign them at the rookie scale equivalent to where they were drafted and give up their pick or allow them to enter that year's main draft. If they go undrafted in the HS draft they can enter the post college draft.
