What's new

Game Thread Dec 23, 2020: Jazz at Trail Blazers

Added to Calendar: 12-23-20

Worked late last night, so I missed the game, did Favors play with Rudy at all last night?
Minimal. About right really. They need to be on the floor for a minute or 2 together then swap out, if that. Largely Favs was the backup, which was exactly right. Solid to bring out the DPOY and bring in Mr. Underrated to replace him. Love it!

He'll get more on back to back nights, or if the other team has a more traditional PF (not that there's many).

I imagine it has happened before but did The Jazz ever double a player right from tip-off like they did with Dame last night?

Wasn't expecting that.

surprised we came out and played so well.

it seems this new hoist em up offence might work, at least it look good in 4 games so far.

Bogey back makes a difference
Rudy played with more aggression and confidence. He looks the part of a max dude.
Don Wan confident, and deadly from 3. Also great passing. We don't need Conley in the future.
Speaking of Conley he does look better, and his 3 pt shot looks good early.
Favors is making an impact. He's such a good back up center. The chemistry with Joe is incredible.
O'neale still a scrub. We should have one of the young guys in there. One, Brantley, or Hughes all give us more.

Thank the maker we resigned Clarkson. Dude can ball.

Interesting Dok got in very first game of season
How long did it take Bradley to play his first game

It's been a long long time since I've seen such a satisfying game from the Jazz.
  • Their offense was a thing of beauty even with Royce off.
  • Their defense was fantastic.
  • The bench play was outstanding.
  • Jingles and Favors are back. *Chefs kiss*
  • Jazz look dominant and their chemistry appears midseason.
In many ways this team combines the best of both worlds; the free flowing scoring of last year's team with the defense and stability of previous teams (largely thanks to Favors). If this team can stay healthy they might be able to contend this year. It's only one game but this team might be the best Mitchell led teams yet.

That was a perfect game to watch on replay while cooking for Christmas whole day. I could pause it many times and calmly go back to the kitchen chores knowing that we completely own them.

Looked it up
Maybe be wrong but he did not get in his first game till game #10 of first season
Don't know what this means though but Udoka looked ready to play immediately
It probably just means we didn't blow out anyone or got blown out till the 10th game in Bradley first season.

Dok can play, though. He is better and more naturally gifted to make impact in short minutes.

Bradley also played behind 3 centers, not two, to start his career.
