favors' problem recently hasn't been a lack of post moves, trout. it's been that he explodes to the hoop and then blows the layup. but that's an easy fix. the guy has an amare-type ability to explode to the rack, he just has to get better at finishing.
the other problem is minutes. until recently, with the 3-big lineup, the guy was basically capped at 20 minutes. because no matter how well he was playing, corbin always pulled him to go back to big al.... pretty much always. there have been so many nights when favors was the better player and still wound up watching the late fourth quarter from the bench. look at his
march numbers: even though it was his best month of the season, he exceeded 23 minutes only THREE times, and two of those were because al was injured.
in the loss at phoenix, for example, he has
9 points and 8 boards in 15 minutes and the suns had absolutely nobody that could guard him. was he rewarded with more minutes? no, he played just 15 minutes and the jazz lost by two. ridonk.
per-36 numbers in march: 16.4 points, 12.8 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, 1.4 steals. he's just not getting the minutes, no matter how well he plays.
