SALT LAKE CITY — Starting Saturday, Jan 18, Vivint Smart Home Arena will no longer accept cash. In an effort to improve speed of service and enhance the fan experience, the sports and entertainment venue will now only accept credit, debit and prepaid cards, and mobile payments.
The home of the Utah Jazz, which underwent a $125 million renovation in 2017, began its cash-free transition in October, reducing the time spent in line for concessions by 10% to 30%.
“The feedback from our initial phase of the cash-free transition was resoundingly positive,” said John Kimball, president of Vivint Smart Home Arena. Kimball hopes fans will be able to spend more time in their seats and less time waiting in line.
Five cash-to-card kiosks are located throughout the main and upper concourses of Vivint Smart Home Arena for guests without an electric form of payment.
Guests also have the option to skip the line at R&R Barbeque, El Chubasco, and the Utah Jazz Team Store by ordering pickup or in-seat delivery with the Utah Jazz + Vivint Arena smartphone app.
