What's new

Does anyone know what "Al" in Al Jefferson is short for?

Could be the full name.

If not, I'm 90% sure it would be Albert.

I can't imagine deep south parents naming their kids "Alan."

Anyone know what the J stands for in Homer J. Simpson's name?

Per Wikipedia, the "J" stands for "Jay."

Homer's middle initial "J", which stands for "Jay",[21] is a "tribute" to animated characters such as Bullwinkle J. Moose and Rocket J. Squirrel from The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show who got their middle initial from Jay Ward.

... man you guys are hopeless..

Apparently his middle name's "Ricardo"

... so.. how about "Al" for "Alfonso" ?

It's Alagatah. His father died on a hunting trip while he was in the womb. Gator took him down.

Look for the tattoo on his back. It says "Alagata, RIP" over a standing crocodile. Being a Christian, it's the only one he has besides his bar code.

Al Ricardo Jefferson (born January 4, 1985 in Monticello, Mississippi) is an American professional basketball player for the Utah Jazz of the NBA.

There you go. Al is short for, well, Al.

Not everyone has a lame *** old fashioned version of their name.

This post goes out to the thousands of haters that have ever asked me if my full name is Alexander throughout my lifetime.
