Hmm.. I know #tonewatch is on a rather low number but reading that
@karl malone post got me thinking about one thing.
If we assume plan A at this very moment is to "keep Lauri" then DA is actually playing with fire by keeping this trade request alive. What stops Lauri from waking up one morning feeling sick and tired of being dangled out there for such a long time? What if he suddenly tells someone that he is unhappy with how the FO is handling this thing, or even worse that he has had a change of heart and wants to move on and be traded to a contender.
Are we absolutely sure that this trade is not plan A instead of plan B? I mean if Lauri is on board and wants to go there and lets Danny conduct business with a promise that it gets worked out, then it would be easy for him to promise he keeps quiet until the FO has conducted their business. If he was excluded from all this, then that "**** this" moment is a major risk as if Lauri gives ANY indication he wont re-sign here then DA loses most of his leverage and we are suddenly talking about a different type of deal.
I mean GSW must have had some assurances that he is willing to go there and sign a new contract there or they wouldn't be this deep into this. If so, then it begs the question which one would he rather do?
