Donovan Mitchell All Star Weekend Thread

What he's saying is, although Memo did not like the dunk contest, it's not a jab at Donovan or his game. People, on this message board, are finding it hard not to equate assessments of last nights dunk contest to the contestants play in NBA games.

You'd have to be insanely socially inept to believe that calling the contest the "worst ever" isn't any dig at the contestants.

That Mitchell interview after the contest was something special. That kid is awesome

This can't be said enough. Anyone who hasn't watched his post contest press conference, do yourself a favor, go watch it. We already knew how lucky we were to have him on our team because of his play, but this guy is an amazing person. He has his head on straight. He seems like a genuinely kind, thoughtful and loving person.

If anyone can handle being a star in the NBA I think it's him. I hope he retires a Jazz man. If he does they're gonna need to make room for another statue.

Donovan can definetly handle being a star, and he has everything to be one. He was born and raised to be great, and he is...beyond anything this franchise has ever got its hands on before. Karl was probably the closest thing, but not this fast, this charismatic, or loveable. Stockton wasn’t someone who wanted such treatment. Donovan is perfect at this, and I think he can handle it. I just hope he can get all the attention he deserves in this small market and can stay grounded, but if he’s this grounded at 21, I don’t see him being anything but a class act his whole career. I think we’ve all got the hope and dreams he will go down as the greatest Jazz player ever...but that’s ahead of ourselves....but we can wish. All we can do is support and love the kid and hope the team wins..... and you do get the real genuine feel of loyalty from the kid but a lot can happen over a career and what an exciting time it is to be a Jazz fan.

Here’s an article on him

You have to be insanely sensitive to take it offensively. It's not a shot at the dunk contestants personally or about their game. It basically says it was the worst dunk contest Memo has seen. Get over it, big boy.

lol, calm down Archie.

Nobody's catching feelings about it - just simply pointing out that calling a dunk contest the "worst ever" is taking a shot at the dunk contestants. To argue otherwise would be insanely stupid.

That was a great game. Kudos to the NBA for changing up the format and adding the charity incentive.
