Donovan Mitchell All Star Weekend Thread

I know this is becoming a drone on kind of thing but it can’t be said enough how amazing of a young man Donovan is.

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen such a good roll model for kids and even grown adults in the form of a 21 year old rookie. Enjoy him, thank him, support him, and take in such a great person with a great heart. Donovan Mitchell’s don’t come around often, and I hope everyone realizes just how rare and great Donovan is. Great at basketball, but on a stage that could have been 100% about him he brought up teammates several times and made sure his sister and mother specifically were brought up. Here’s a couple more clips



 
Donovan Mitchell, to my knowledge and half *** research, has the most IG followers on the Jazz right now with 550k followers. I thought Rubio or Gobert could have more, but it's not close. It will be interesting to when he gets over a million followers. My bet is, before the end of the calendar year. Gordon Hayward has 1.1 million. Mitchell is way more likable and his fan base is exploding.

Who was the last legit NBA player that won the Dunk contest? Blake? Who was before Blake? I don't recall anyone decent.

Nah, dude.
Zach Lavine and John Wall have won. Zach, imo, could be a really good player in this league still, too. There have been all star level players or future all stars who've competed and lost in recent years too.

I'm definitely buying Donovan's Adidas over Giannis' Nike. And that's coming from a Nike fan. Why not? I know I am a Jazz fan so I am a little bias. But even if I'm not, I think Donovan has better personality overall. He just has that no fear attitude. I mean you don't see Giannis doing the dunk contest do you? Why not? I just love Donovan's overall attitude more.

Giannis did the dunk contest in 2015 but he wasn't very good.

Kind of funny he tried to do a similar dunk to Mitchell and failed.

Mitchell threw it off the backboard and caught it at the back of his extension for a tomahawk and Giannis tried to do it off a high bounce but couldnt control it enough to finish.
