Donovan.....side-steps again

Is that what you call virtue signaling? Thank god Donavan lives up to your super high morals, and cares about poor disadvantaged kids, same as you. You really sound like a really really good person. Thanks for filling us in. I’m kind of in awe of how awesome you are!
Donovan donating $12 million is definitely not virtue signaling. Listen to the podcast, hear what Chris Haynes has to say and realize that there’s a large part of America that gets a very different experience that others cannot imagine. Donovan has a unique experience with this and Utahns would be better off if they would listen instead of lecture him.

Sad to me that every time someone says something that the right disagrees with they try to shut down debate by talking about virtual signaling or wokism.

He ever donated a dollar in Utah?---Not Adidas, not Body Armor for an image play......Donovan. I've seen Rudy do it on multiple multiple occasions.

Just ****ing stop. This is you entire jazzfanz existence at this point. You've become a jazzfanz meme of a Donovan hater. You are 2 dimensional and that's with the by one dimension get the second dimension free coupon.

Why are you here? Please step back and ask yourself that. Why are you on this mission? What is the end goal?

Donovan didn't answer a certainty pre-screened, and intentional question, but he sure wanted to do a dance and make some feel like he did.
"I'm happy" is an answer to 'Are you happy in Utah?'. It just doesn't match your magic words.

As Tim MacMahon put it on ESPN700 today "If you're a Jazz fan and you're reading what he said as any sort of commitment, perhaps you're being a little naive"
I am sure Mitchell has as much commitment to the Jazz as they do to him (aka, this is a business). If the Jazz thought they could do better by trading Mitchell, he would be traded. Why should Mitchell be more committed than that?

I like how you pretend and twist that answering this question adequately in the way it was asked was hard or something, it wasn’t, and he refused to do it.

You know a funny thought I just had. What if it’s Rudy pushing these buttons lol. MacMahon has had some pretty in depth interviews with Rudy, and kinda clearly sides with Rudy when you hear an interview from him. Before Donovan signed his contract NY media was reporting “some of Donovan’s teammates don’t know if he’ll be there long term”. Then there’s the Booker comment. To be clear I do think all of the rumors are real, but it would kind of be hilarious if Rudy’s camp is leaking them to create a rumor mill hell Donovan clearly doesn’t want to deal with at the moment and doesn’t dare answer honestly because he knows they’re true. PS I’d approve if so Rudy.

I don’t know if he has donated any money to Utah but he has certainly donated his time and engaged with the community. Basketball camps, charitable events, showing up at games, going to 4th of July picnics, helping people who were in car accidents and probably a whole bunch of other things that don’t get reported.

Why are you so hurt by the fact that a professional basketball player might leave Utah some day? He has the right to do that. Enjoy him while he’s here, Utah rarely gets this type of talent.

Can you imagine growing up a Jazz fan and dreaming of playing for the Jazz? Let’s pretend you are really good at basketball and are going to be a lottery pick. And then you get drafted by the Bobcats! Wouldn’t that be awful? Wouldn’t you want to leave as soon as you could?

Donovan can choose to do whatever he wants. Hopefully he lets the organization know his plan so the Jazz can respond accordingly (like PG13 did). But if he doesn’t, that’s his right too.

I’ve discussed a few of these. He did do one basketball camp, but not for charity, for $200 a kid and hasn’t done one since. And yes he’s good at going to things, it’s great and free PR for what will surly go viral. The 4th of July BBQ thing was essentially fake. He went to a guys home (local Real Estate guy I won’t give his name for his privacy) that he was invited to, which is what the picture is from that circulated and went viral. My issue with him is just how clearly fake he is. I don’t like the organization bending over backwards for an ungrateful douche they’ll never be able to please. The dude has been given an absurdly GOOD situation the first five years of his career, that have benefitted him immensely, and in turn he threw his other most responsible teammate for that success under the bus for months, got the head medical trainer that took care of him for 4 years fired over literally nothing, demanded everything he wants, and then just let’s garbage fly over and over without adequately just addressing ****.

You know why the Rudy/Donovan drama hangs over the franchise? Because of the a**hat who threw a public fit for 3 months in the first place. Oh is the poor guy who started all this nonsense tired of being asked questions about it, then maybe you shouldn’t act like a little child every time you hit a rough patch. There’s plenty of reports that behind that PR there’s a hard to manage diva and I’d actually just like to get him out the door ASAP so I can enjoy the team again, because yes, I can’t stand the dude.

Oh and the answer to what $ figure he’s donated to the state. None. The Jazz gave him a nice $200 million pay day with a PO though didn’t they.

I haven’t seen the reports. You better be right, otherwise you are spending a considerable amount of energy spreading gossip about one of the greatest players the franchise will ever see (and even if you are right… why waste all that energy??)

The man has taken the Jazz to the 2nd round. He hasn’t accomplished **** lol.

There’s a point in that interview where Donovan, referencing Rudy’s Booker comment, says “the bigger way would have been to just do it in house” THE AUDACITY that dude has after leaving Rudy out to dry for months with the world blaming him for Covid because Donovan threw a **** fit publicly leaking info. He’s such a puke lmao.

Who the **** cares? Don was drafted. It’s not like he grew up here. I would guess most of us are Jazz fans only because we grew up in the state. So why are you expecting Don to somehow love this place?

Enjoy the time we have him here. We’ve had some incredible years with him.

Also, go **** yourselves.

I don’t enjoy him, for a multitude of reasons, and I won’t. I will be very pleased when he is gone.

We all know the Jazz were screwed after Hayward left. Our hopes resided in Rodney Hood becoming a 25+ ppg all-star. Unfortunately opening night came and Rodney was no where to be found when tip off came.

Donovan carried the team. It was such a fun year. He played with joy and excitement. He embraced the community. He started a tradition of soaking teammates with water bottles post game. I remember the joy in his smile when he realized he had score 30 points against New Orleans. It was apparent he was living beyond his wildest dreams. I remember a couple games his rookie year where the Jazz were down, he sparked a mini run and other team calls time out and the camera picks up him going to the huddle yelling “let’s go! Let’s go!” And his enthusiasm willed the Jazz to victory. These types of guys are rare!

You can convince yourself it’s all for show. If that’s the case he’s a damn good showman. Always supporting his teammates during the game. Liked by pretty much everyone in the league. Trading jerseys after games, giving kudos to guys like Terrance Mann and that rookie in New Orleans. Giving always shoes and sleeves at the end of the game. So many examples.

His cause is justice and representation for the black community. I guess that leaves some people in Utah miffed…. And they wonder why Utah is considered a racist state by so many!

To say Donovan hasn’t accomplished anything… he kept us from a complete rebuild. We would have been screwed had he not developed so quickly.

Answer the question.
What was the question?

Is it how bad does Donovan suck today?

'cause you can shove your repetitive stupid **** up your own ***, mine is closed at the moment.

So much for “Donovan is so special. We need to savor every moment of him while we have him.” I’d bump some of your threads where you were teenybopping all over him but you live for this stuff (diva much?).

Anyway, why does the OP say side-stepped and not Euro-stepped

*Rudy carried a team that was 19-28 in January (and non-playoff team) to one of the best regular season finishes ever when he came back from injury……is what I think you meant to say.

As for being liked, yes he’s so liked by his peers in player voting he came in 9th in the west for guards in votes from players in All Star voting, lower than he finished with media or even fans. As for it being for show. Spence Checketts today: “I’ve been told Donovan’s kind of a robot, CAA tells him what to say and he goes out there and says it.” So yes when Hayward left, a kid who grew up inside the Mets organization and was tailored for professional sports with CAA writing the script new exactly what to say those first couple years…..funny he won’t say any of that anymore.

As for racist, let me be very clear, I support much of the causes he stands for, but people disagreeing on certain things with him doesn’t make them a racist. He is not an all knowing being. He ain’t God, and frankly in this podcast when he’s sitting there acting like he’s dropping knowledge and some are just too resistant or dumb (or “racist”) to get it is frankly disgusting as well. We gotta throw a label on anyone who thinks differently than us these days and “racist” and “socialist” seem to be the easiest stones to throw. A lot of people need to grow the **** up when discussing serious issues, of which this and basketball is not.

So do tell me, when we made it no farther than the 2nd round when this iteration of the Jazz is done what exactly did we gain from it? We’d have been better off in a rebuild than kicking it down the road 5 years and making the 2nd round once. He has and will accomplish no more here than Hayward and will bounce sooner.

JazzFanz: Hey, Oneye, what sort of movies do you like?
Oneye: The kind that Donovan Mitchell hates.

JazzFanz: Hey, Oneye, would you like to go to Disneyland?
Oneye: That depends. Will Donovan Mitchell be there?

JazzFanz: Hey, Oneye, why don't you wear your seatbelt?
Oneye: Because Donovan Mitchell does.

Yes so much for that. I’ll repeat myself again. Get the puke off the team.
