Draft pick protection

What is the protection on the 1st-rounder traded to Minnesota. Didn't we give them the Memphis pick + a protected future first?

If the Jazz barely squeak into the playoffs, I think Utah would probably lose their draft pick - assuming a couple of Eastern teams that make the playoffs have a worse record than the Jazz. Not a good place to be in for a team that desperately needs depth.

Correct. Minnesota received the Grizzlies' protected pick (from the Ronnie Brewer trade) and Utah's own-protected 1st-rnd pick - with the following protections:
2011: top-16 protected
2012: top-14 protected
2013: top-9 protected
2014: option to swap 1st-round picks with Utah
-if T-Wolves don't receive Utah's pick before 2013 and opt not to swap picks - they automatically receive Utah's 2014 2nd-rnd pick.

We need to get good or real bad in the next few years. We neecto trade dwill. I loved the guy, butvhe is so bailing on us in a few years. I did not believe hecwould do an lbj on us, but the course of this year has changed my mind.
