Earl Watson signs 2 year deal

Earl is going to be good for the young guys. He'll mostly play with Kanter, Favors, Burks and he'll be great getting them shots and confidence. This is the right move for us. By contrast, signing Earl as the backup for most teams would be the wrong move. He's not actually that great. He's just great at what we need him for the next 2 years.

Um, no, I've watched Price since they got him. You do remember him dunking on Boozer before we picked him up, right? And they did re-sign him once, so they must have liked him to some degree, so no, it's certainly not my 'first season'. Price has fans, or I thought he did. Believe it or not, Price is my neighbors favorite Jazz player, and he will be crushed if he isn't signed.

I love him as a teammate and he seems like a real solid guy, but his skill set just isn't quite there, which is a shame because he's so easy to root for IMO.

Your neighbor get out much? How is price anyone's favorite player?

He's the quintessential fan favorite. A small guy who has great hops (which resulted in great plays like his block of Luke Walton in the playoffs or his dunk on Boozer, though he was with the Kings then), and a guy who went to school locally in the area, and made what seems to be a pretty impossible jump into the NBA. Hard not to root for him, even though I think he's only useful as a 3rd PG at best and more like a guy who can practice and sit on the bench in a suit.

I still don't know how a guy that can handle the ball, still has legs, defends well, and has roots in the community, loyal to the organization, and could only be a positive influence on the work ethic of the team can't beat out Jamaal Tinsley*. Price is an absolute perfect end of bench player.

*Odds are he still is a bit of a douche and is too slow to do anything on the court and can't even compensate with a shot.

We have pretty good back up for point guard position, i wish we had Brandon Knight instead of Harris

I've always thought that price would be a much better player if he were 4-5 inches taller. As it is, he's a little small to be an effective SG, and is a mediocre to bad PG.

Nobody questions his heart.

4.6 million for two years

Link?

Also, if this is true, very cool. I was concerned about the money.

Also, it sure would be nice if Watson could mentor someone that might get better instead of one that very clearly peaked three years ago.
