Ersan Ilyasova wants out of Milwaukee

You're going to tell those of us that have bothered to inform ourselves at all that we're talking out of our asses, then you're going to come in and say Ilyasova logged ANY minutes at SF? (Hint; he didn't, you are screaming out of your ***)

And according to 82 games, Brewer never played a single minute at the 2 either.

I distinctly remember Ersan guarding Kobe, and doing a damn good job at it as well.

He is a nice hustle player. Good finisher when plays in a structured system, but can not create his own shot. Has been more succesful when he played 4 in Europe and Turkish national team.

I think he will go back to Europe as he can earn more there.

While we're on the subject of talking out of our asses...

And for the record, Ilyasova has played minutes at the 3 in the NBA, but none last year, and only in extremely limited minutes in years past (2 games in the season previous, and a bunch of games in his rookie season, in which his opponent averaged a near 30 PER [Lebron James-esque production]).

Many, many times I've seen box scores listing guys as having played a position which IN FACT, they were NOT playing in a particular game. Also, if a player listed at SF is GUARDED by a PF, is he actually playing SF or PF? What if he guards a PF or SG; what position is he playing? Add to that, often guys guard one position, and are guarded by a guy playing a DIFFERENT position. And last, they may guard or be guarded by DIFFERENT guys from different positions during the course of a single game. DIVERSITY is GOOD; a guy's value goes up when he can handle the responsibilities of more tha 1 position. It's all about matchups!!!
Ilyasova would be a nice addition, IMO. ANd don't put TOO much money on Millsap not being able to play SF. The man has shown he can learn to do most anything we've thrown at him. If he is gonna play PF, he still needs to improve his quickness. Defensively, gotta learn his opponents' tendencies better and anticipate where they want to go on the court and BEAT them to that spot. Offensively, he needs to use his quickness more effectively, and draw more fouls.

I'd rather have Ryan Anderson. At least he does one thing really good. Ilyasova does a few things, and he does them OK.

Wow!!!!! I want players who can play big minutes and contribute to team victories Ilyasova does that Anderson is only capable of giving spot minutes camping out behind the 3, plus Ilyasova can play sf and is a good rebounder, which was a huge weakness last year for us.

Cyrone, I usually respect your posts, that was one of the stupidest things I've ever heard!

Ilyasova is ten times the player Anderson is. All Anderson does is spot up behind the three point line doesn't defend or rebound or post up. Ilyasova does all those things.

Not according to any statistical measurement in existence. Anderson wipes the floor with Ilyasova (higher PER by >5 points, produced more points, rebounds, steals, blocks, assists, shot a much better percentage from 3, scored more PPS, in addition to having eye-popping +s in +/- and his own production vs his opponent). I don't have the slightest idea where you got the idea that Ilyasova is a SF or how you fell head-over-heels in love with him.

For the third or fourth time, he is not a SF. At least not anymore than Millsap is. Or Hayward. Or Miles (as ****ty as he is). The Jazz have four players under contract whose ideal position is PF, and when Kanter signs, that will be five. Adding Ilyasova, that's six. There's only so much shuffling and hammering square pegs into round holes before it's time to just get a circle peg. Adding Ilyasova is the total opposite of that. It's silly.

But if people just want to let their imaginations run wild and scream baseless assertions out of their prolapsed cheerios, then have at it. I'm done, but this has been fun.

Ryan Anderson rebounds just as good as Ilyasova.

And like Numberica said, we already have 4 or 5 guys who can play PF. We dont really need another PF who can play SF, we need another athletic SG/SF. SCOTTY HOPSON!

And could the reason he wants to get out of Milwakee is that he sees minutes will be hard to come in the future with Larry Sanders as their PF of the future, and Stephen Jackson/Tobias Harris (who I think will be a steal) at the SF?

I really liked Tobias, was hoping the Jazz would some how end up with him.
My steals of the Draft:

Jonas Valanciunas
Jan Vesely
Tobia Harris
Nikola Mirotic
Jimmy Butler

Ilyasova is one of the best players in Europe, but his game didn't fit NBA so well mostly due to his unclear position, he is more of a 4 than 3 but he isn't strong enough to defend powerful 4s in NBA. Still i believe he would do much better in a more organized team rather than an offense relying on individual skills like Salmons or Jennings.
I would love to see another Turk in jazz but he is obviously not the best choice for us. He is abundant while we have millsap.
