What's new

Ettore Messina or John Stockton?

I think Stockton would be a great coach. He's learned for one of the best in Sloan, he was a terrific player on the court. I think he would give a lot of trust to the players and have great relationships with them. I could see him coaching like Hornacek, so I would be vey happy if either of them got hired.

John Stockton has zero coaching experience. None.

He's also the hometown here…which means that if he does poorly, which is a pretty good chance, we have to fire him. That tarnishes his reputation in Utah.

John Stockton going to coach here with no experience is a lose-lose situation for him, and for the Jazz.

Unfortunately I have to agree here. But, that doesn't stop me from day-dreaming about the possibility of seeing Stockton roaming the sidelines one day for the Jazz.

Etoire is Phillipe Jackson of European. Jonathan Stockton is two viola Carlos Malone like Jerrebuko Sloan is two more viola of Phillipe Jack.

Denny job is easy peasy lemon squeezy for today. #GetEtt

I want Stock to be the coach. The Jazz whiffed on Horny.

Stockton was one of the smartest players to ever play the game, and was the best of all time to ever play the position that is referred to as the "coach on the floor" position. Kidd and Jackson are two PG's that were able to translate with zero coaching experience, and they weren't/aren't even half as smart as Stockton. Granted, Kidd and Jackson inherited teams with some gifted players on hand already, but with this draft and the continued development of our current youngs, maybe we could have the players as well.

If the Jazz wanted Stockton, and he accepted, they would be energizing their team and fanbase in a MAJOR way. People would be very forgiving of him and the situation through this rebuilding process. Dude is bigger than Jesus.

This. Stockton doesn't need no stinking coaching experience. He already has 20 years of doing it on the floor.

In addition, Stock would have so much clout that he could do whatever the hell he thought best for the team without worrying about repercussions from the FO. Lindsey couldn't fire Stockton if he wanted to. Fans would rebel if he tried.
