Tunis was probably too nice to be a sports talk host, especially in today's market, but the guy had serious balls. He walked away from a safe, secure job hosting the evening sports show on KSL to start the first all sports station in Utah. Seems like a no-brainer now, but at the time, it seemed like a disastrous plan, but it worked. His engineer, scores reader was David Locke.

I know most of you probably don't know/remember Tuner, but I thought he deserved his own thread.

I remember him, but really hadn't heard much about him since leaving Utah for good. Nice guy. Very knowledgeable. And the article is correct; he was a consummate pro. Of course, it's the confrontational idiots who seem to develop a big following nowadays.

I guess it IS true...only the good die young.

Wow. I had no idea who the guy was, but reading the article he sounds like the best kind of person. The things the people who knew him said, well I just hope people say things half as nice about me.

I hadn't thought about him for years, but it is sad that he passed away. Cancer is vicious.
