Favors got extended

Maybe i'm a homer but when i look at my man Lance, i see Dwyane Wade. His game ressembles to Wade's game. If they give him the opportunity, he can show what he has.

Yes you are being a homer in regards to Lance, he was almost out of the league a few years ago because of his poor attitude. He has talent but he is very inconsistent and still a little bit of a knucklehead. I agree that Indy was stupid to give George the MAX, I just hope the Jazz aren't stupid either even though they have made a few mistakes in the past. I agree that Harden is a better player than George but in my opinion he hasn't earn the right to be a MAX player either.

Unfortunately, too many very good players or potentially good players are given the MAX. To me you have to be the Main guy or second guy on a team and you have to have proven it over the length of your first contracts. I think MAX deals should be for guys like Kobe, Lebron, Kevin Durant, healthy Derrick Rose, young Dirk, healthy Wade, young Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Carmelo perhaps Chris Paul and Deron Williams when they were at the top of their games not so much recently.

Borderline guys are DW, CP3, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, Irving, healthy Brandon Roy, healthy Seth Curry.

1. Max contracts vary depending on service time (Kobe's making $30mm this season). You thought Harden was an MLE player before he was traded...He's definitely a max player.

you need to accumulate minimum number of blocks to be included in league's leading list for a season. Fact that it was enough for him to play in only half the season to do that is impressive.

My take is the Jazz paid him a couple of million extra each year to lock him up now. They just couldn't risk him having a huge year and having to pay through the nose to keep or just losing him anyway. 4/40 is probably closer to his value now, but to lock him up it cost the extra 9 million.

I think people have forgotten just how much of an impact Favors makes because of his quiet pre-season performances. With consistent starter minutes, increased confidence, and more respect from referees, he should AT LEAST improve his fouling rate. And with that minimal improvement, with everything else staying the same, the Jazz still got a decent deal. But chances are he'll improve in several ways over the next couple of years, making this a very good move.

I for one am very happy with the news.

If Favors is 14/10/2 this upcoming season - and i feel like those are conservative/accurate projections - than $12M/per is absolutely market value. And lets not forget, he's still just 22 years old. I don't think Favors will ever be a frontline superstar but I think he will definitely anchor our frontcourt for as long as he's in SLC. And you're simply not going to get anyone who can successfully fill that role for less than what we paid him.

If he exceeds those numbers, and does become an All-Star caliber player, than we have ourselves a steal. I t

I think that 4 is the most that you can sign a players contract for-- unless you give him the max (as per new CBA).


Hayward will only get 4 years. Kanter is the only probable candidate for the max tbh

I'm disappointed in favors offense, but the deal is not that bad. I think the key is that it is done so there is some stability going forward. And it is not like it is an unmovable contract if things go badly.
