Favors training with Malone

Perhaps click on the link by the OP?!

I know some posters never do, so I picked out the parts of the interview that I really liked. The quotation marks may help you determine what was said by Favors and what part of my post is my opinion. LULZ!

Haha I know.
That's just not a MoTown typical type post.

Through Karl Malone's eyes, Karl Malone can help Derrick Favors become like Karl Malone and refer to Derrick Favors as Derrick Favors.

NO!!! The third person thing drives me nuts! Favors doesn't have the attitude to pull it off. If anybody refers to himself in the third person on our team it should be Enes Kanter. His interviews are always hilarious.

That would be too funny.

"First of all, Kanter is a good post player, but Kanter is working on Kanter's face up game."

"Enes Kanter would like to get more playing time, but Enes Kanter will keep working hard to earn it."

What's up What's up What's up What's up! First of all, Enes Kanter is rebounding with muscle advantage! Then Enes Kanter will dominate the hole. (Drops the mic and walks away like a thug)

Further evidence Favors prefers the PF position over playing C... If he develops anything close to Malone's outside game, look out... And all that extra work should improve his stamina, which has been an issue too...

What I got from this interview is how he keeps emphasizing he wants to play more, and how he will start thinking about his contract if he isn't playing much.

I'm growing more nervous about what Corbin is going to do. If he tries to split the minutes between the Biggs the same as last year, then we have something to worry about. I can only imagine him wanting out if he averages under 30 minutes a game. No, he can't force his way out now, but it's not going to help in retaining him in the future.

This is why a trade has to happen. We can't give the coach a chance to screw this up. We can't drop the ball here.

We made our bed here. We have basically hitched ourselves to the Favors wagon when we traded Deron away. So, they just have to stick him out there and hope for the best. We can't keep saying he is too young and not ready.

This is a hugely important point. Favors is going into his third year. Let's say he doesn't get very much playing time again, and then the Jazz finally give him the minutes in his fourth year but don't give him a max contract and claim it is because he hasn't shown enough improvement yet. How will he take this? How will his agent spin it? He just needs minutes. He's not even saying he needs to start. He just wants minutes. Paul and Al are not going to be max players at this point. Favors very well could be, so this could be a bad situation if he feels like that Jazz hosed him with lack of playing time. He likes Utah and is winning over fans throughout the state. Don't screw this up Jazz brass!
