we really do need to learn (and it shouldn't rocket science after key's leap) not to give up these one and done's after their first couple seasons. these are guys who would be sophomores and juniors in college had they stayed, yet we're so quick to be conclusive about them.

i'm as guilty as anybody as it relates to cody. most of the board has done it with collier. it's dumb.

I continue to be disappointed that Flip really isn't that good at passing/playmaking. I really overrated his level of feel

Meh….I’m still not a huge believer in Collier long term. It gives me no surprise that he’s putting up numbers in this kind of situation, but this situation is so far removed from normal.

my comment had literally zero to do with how he's played the last couple games.

in fact, my comment would be more apt had he played like **** the last couple games. the point is, he's so far from a finished product at his age and experience it's pretty silly to decide you're not a believer this early in the game.

Guys do make exceptional development sometimes. It’s not something I count on and it’s not going to change the fact that I have opinions on young players.

a 2nd year player putting up back to back double doubles and 22 assists the other game. surprising take as I cant think of another guard in his class with even close numbers to that. he's pretty consistent with distribution and handles the ball well. his only knack is decision making and 3pt% both which should or could continue to improve, as he is only in his 2nd year and came into the draft after one season. he's my favorite guard in the class and an absolute steal

bub carrington assist high this season 11
stephon castle 13
reed shepard 8
jared mccain 5.

If the NBA was a contest about racking up assists on a tanking team while dominating the ball for 48 minutes, Collier would be near the top of my list. I don’t really care about counting stats in a completely unrealistic situation.

My skepticism about Collier is how he fits into a winning team. Collier probably isn’t going to be a superstar, and there’s really only one backup PG who dominates the ball like he does. Just a tough way to make a living in the NBA.

can't just completely ignore results. youngest player ever with 20+ assists in a game. doesn't matter the circumstances, tanking or not. game didn't even go to OT. He absolutely could be a special player and I don't think you can bottle him this early in his career. Jazz need a player like that to get the ball to Ace, JJJ and Markannen.

Yeah I agree with don’t completely ignore results. And that includes results beyond two games. These two games do not really move the needle at all when it comes to my concerns.

best PG in 25 draft vs collier
Castle, 30.8 min/game, 45.5%, 16.5PPG 6.9 assists(with a 7'7" C),
Collier, 24.9 min/game, 50.5%, 10PPG, 7.1 assists.

that's an entire season. too early to ignore him.
